"Hmm?" Louis glances in the direction Liam's pointing. "Not denim pullover, surely, look at his shoulders-oh, no, him. Do you think?"
"Yes," Liam says simply and then, just in case 'simply' isn't the best way to communicate with Louis he adds, "I really, really do. Whatever it is I'm shooting, I want him in it."
"Right you are," Louis says. "Let's see, that's-oh, that's Harry Styles, actually, he's been around a bit lately. You've put your finger on the pulse, Liam, well done you."
"Oh?" Liam says, and then shrugs. "Well he want to do the shoot, do you think?"
"Liam, honestly," Louis says, sounding almost fond. "People still know your name, you know. Not to mention an editorial in 'TXF' is kind of a big fucking deal, if I do say so myself. Here, watch. Styles!"
The boy looks up, his posture straightening a bit, which reveals that not only is he taller than Liam had thought, he's got this neck, and it's just.
"God," he says. Louis laughs and says, "Don't go swooning, now."
"Who's swooning?" Harry asks. He ducks his head forward and reaches up to push his hair out of his face in a move that's clearly practiced. It makes him look startlingly young for a second.
"Liam's having fantasies about your bone structure or something, I don't know," Louis says. Liam blushes, but refuses to apologize because it's true. Granted, it's not true in the way Louis means it, but what is true is: Liam's tracking the light as it cuts across Harry's jaw, thinking about doing something with angles, with shadows, and it's been too long since he felt like this about work. Like it wasn't work at all.
"Liam?" Harry asks, frowning.
"Liam Payne, pleasure to meet you," Liam says a bit distractedly, holding out his hand. Harry meets it in a handshake and then blinks.
"Wait, Liam Payne as in-really? Oh wow," he says, which isn't actually helping Liam's blush.
"Congratulations, welcome to your big break," Louis says. "Liam's shooting our editorial for next month and he wants you in it. Hooray, yay, isn't life grand? The correct answer's yes, by the way. Right, head over to Joseph in the corner, there, he's going to make sure we have all your contact details, that sort of thing. Chop chop!"
"I-really?" Harry asks. He sounds a little breathless, but he obediently heads off in the direction Louis shoves him. He's only taken a few steps, though, before he turns back around and catches Liam's gaze, his eyes wide. "Thank you, so much, I'm really-thank you."
"Oh," Liam says, caught off-balance for what already feels like the hundredth time this morning. "I mean. You're welcome?"
Harry beams at him, his smile bright and sincere and just a little crooked, and that's when Liam sees the dimples.
"God," he says again. Louis doesn't even bother muffling his laughter.

you've basically whacked the nail right on the head and you're only one part in and i'm so excited because it's already perfect i just can't wait to see what amazingness you'll bring.
i can't really pinpoint a favourite part, because it's all pretty much my favourite so far. liam trying to pretend he's not home, and louis just expecting people to do the things he says (but still being pleasantly surprised when liam finally agrees to do a shoot), when liam sees harry. omfg it's all the best just. i don't really have words for how lovely this is.
