"As unknown to them as the mysteries of Narnia."

I think the thing that hurt my brain the most was that this author knew how to spell definitely and use your/you’re correctly...

I can't figure out how to spork since the whole thing wasn't awful, just random phrasing and spelling gone wrong, so I'm going to categorise the badness and let it spork itself. Quotes from the fic in bold.

It's certainly a gem of a line

What is it even trying to say?

Tatters.
- though that's still grammatically incorrect

He saw it all in her faces.

Maybe since this is AU she's secretly the mayor of Halloweentown.

[...]and a woman was absorbed into the screen of her laptop.

Did anyone else have a flashback of the Digimon movie? No, just me? Okay then. *laughs at image* And a chest champion?

What makes this even sadder is that with a few lessons on grammar and some proofreaders, the writing of this wouldn't be all that bad. Badfic that could have been saved is always the most depressing badfic.

Now I am :P

And the chest thing? I thought it was just a typo until it happened again and again. Mt little brother used to call 'chess' chest when he was... 5? And ouch *cringes* her livejournal profile says she turned 23... in 2007. Fail

She watched the chest pieces move rapidly over an invisible board
For some reason this and the other "chest" lines remind me of an old Powerpuff Girls fanfic that had the same mistake. What is it with people and not double-checking their spell-checker?

Well, to be fair, chest is spelled chest. A spell checker doesn't pick up that you used the wrong word.

The table agreed with the woman.

Oh good, a civilized conversation. Badfic needs more of those.

Perhaps they were discussing which new chairs to buy.
