Alien Country?

So I'm browsing the Hetalia kink meme for some US/UK smut when I come across a winning one-liner in what's actually good!fic.

England placed the unfortunate spoon in his mouth and... began digesting whatever it was that he just placed in his mouth.So either England is an alien who can move his stomach into his mouth, or anon meant to say chewing.

well. If we're really nitpicking here (which we are), digestion technically DOES begin in the mouth, with saliva.

Not sure why the spoon is unfortunate, though.

I know, but to me it read like his mouth had been magically replaced by his stomach. XD

The spoon is unfortunate because it is being digested England's cooking is really bad. Umm... yes. Still not clear how that affects the spoon.

Mechanism of Digestion

Once the food is ingested into the mouth the action of the upper and the lower jaw crushes and grinds the food. This also stimulates the production of saliva. Saliva is thoroughly mixed with the food with the action of the jaws, teeth, inner walls of cheeks and tongue. The food is formed into bolus (a soft ball). Due to salivary amylase, partial digestion of starch takes place here.
