crossover: ffvii/ffviii/fail

Browsing the Pit, I came across a crossover where, if I’m reading correctly, Cloud and Squall come from a world where plot, capitalisation and any correct dialogue convention are non-existent.

My troll sense can’t help but tingle, but frankly my brother’s attempts at fan fic were pretty much identical to this, so.
Anyway, the story begins and we’ ( Read more... )

This makes my face hurt. Good sporking, though. :3 Shopping for a year? That happens every day! Why should one be concerned? In a world with no quotation marks, there are bigger fish to fry.

In a world without quotation marks, two men must go on a quest to find them. They must endure sandstorms, unholy alliances, character rape, and year long shopping trips to discover the lost... Temple Of Grammar!

See, now this actually makes the concept of the fic stomachable (new word, much?) but then I eyeball the fic again, and... the monsters, mummy. D: Make the monsters go away.

That would actually make a really cool writing exersize. You would start the story only being able to use periods, and then as it progessed the heroes would find commas and quotation marks and question marks and semi colons and so on.

I DON'T KNOW. It just keeps throwing these things at us without any explanation.

Maybe there was some hidden cutscene in the game that we missed?

Theoretically, Cloud could ask "are you Squall?" and then also ask "(Yes I'm Squall) May I help you?" and then answer his own question "Yes you can."

The dialogue is so freaking ambiguous and sadly it wouldn't even be close to the weirdest thing in this fic :(
