[The whole atmosphere of Japan was calming to Mary. There was a tranquility that she hadn't been able to find even at the manor; of course, the recent holidays always made things a bit more hectic and stressful, even if your own children weren't involved in the little kids excitement.

Turning a corner, she paused as she saw someone that definitely didn't look like a local. Especially when she heard his words.]

[Varon felt his heart stop for a moment. Crap, someone heard. Now what? Guess there's no turning back now.

Varon turned around slowly and looked at the woman with piercing blue eyes that softened for just a moment.]

[He gave a sad chuckle. Yeah, he's had moments where he missed people that he cared for but those days are long gone and he's not in that place anymore. He barely can recall ever having a happy childhood much less admit that he ever had one.]
