[And whatever you all were doing it is no longer important because Mukuro is on the screen, looking mighty irritated. Well... at least as irritated as he CAN look... which, given his perpetual smile, comes off as being more perturbed than irate. However, that doesn't matter, something is at hand that needs to dealt with immediately and he doesn't

I have it. How does that work, and is she alright so far?
[Curiosity can wait, making sure Chrome doesn't die is the first priority, and with him not sure how that part works...]

She's stable. She has her own powers to sustain herself, but it is weak in comparison to mine.
[he switches the feed to private]
Where are you? This is not something I would like to discuss over something that could be intercepted.
[His powers where something he had been making a great effort to keep mostly under wraps- passing it off as magic mostly. At least he could trust Saguru to keep a lid on it... or he could just possess him for the week... but that would become a bother if he left his own body laying out, soulless for a week. Oh this was a predicament indeed.]

[Yes, Saguru was already on his way.]

Before we get started, there is something you need to do first.
[He glances at his eye in Saguru's skull... and while he just wanted to rip it out on the principal of someone else having it alone, it was a savage desire that would get him nowhere.]
You remember taking Chrome's form temporarily, correct? Do you remember what it was like? How the body felt? Imagine Chrome. Just like that. As though you were looking at her through a mirror.

[Smirk.]
So you've lost your powers...?

Lost my powers? Hardly. It is only one talent of mine that the other seems to have toggled with.
[He flips his bangs a bit]
It is an irksome matter, but that is all.

[also smirk.]
So you are certain you have not lost something? You never know what the Author will think of doing.

It was just weird. Mikami did not have contact with a single person who had meant something to him in the past, the only time when he'd let people closer.
Until now there had been no such person.
But now there was this odd addition to his memory and as much as he tried he could not forget.
He now knew that Mukuro had been there after his mother died, in this most fragile moment of his life. He knew that protecting Mukuro had been the one thing to hold him up and he even knew how his silent thank-you had felt.
It earned Mukuro a place in Mikami's mind that he didn't want him to have.
No matter what Mukuro might have been back then, now he wasn't anymore. Now he was a wannabe God, operating with revenge as a motive. Unrighteous. 'Or nearly so'Mikami wanted to turn back time just so that he wouldn't have thought that last addition ( ... )

Something... wasn't right. He... could put his finger on WHAT wasn't right.... but something felt off. He didn't feel in control. He didn't like it... but at the same time...
He was conflicted. It was a foreign sensation to him. His emotions were always minimal, muted, ina a way, they never presented themselves enough for him to be... conflicted... about them. But now he was working against his foolish notions of his child-self's mind.
Teru was safe. A lie, people can't be trusted.
Teru is special because he's from the outside. Wrong, his eye made him special. There was nothing special about Mikami. He wasn't even worthy enough to be a pawn.
Teru saved me, I'm going to stay with him from now on. ...Nonsense. That never happened. He wanted to despise Mikami for this indignity to him... but he simply couldn't bring himself to. It was maddening. But he ( ... )

The way Mukuro said 'that' made him look up fully. He shook his head slowly]
It was nothing. My self from then rather enjoyed it.
[He didn't even know why he said this out loud. Teru adjusted his glasses to get the awkwardness to go away. His past self was past, it should not be allowed to talk out of him. It should not even be able to affect him anymore. That had been 13 years ago. Why did it mean so much to him back then? It made no sense for that to still reach out into the presence]

[He had enjoyed it too... and now he just felt disgusted with himself for it. This was something for people lesser than him. Insignificant people who had not bothered to change their own world. He had transcended these flaws though the cycle of reincarnation. He was a flawless being. Free of sin. Why did this flaw brought on by some warped memory feel as though it had somehow tainted that? But the child in him felt compelled to speak...
and he felt compelled to allow it to speak.]
It was a refreshing reprieve from what I was used to. It's almost a pity it couldn't have stayed that way.
[Almost. He had power now. Power he had earned through his trials. And with that power he would ensure there would be another case like his in the world. Even if he had to nearly destroy it first ( ... )

[It's getting Fate to kind of curl around a pillow because she misses Arf and isn't even sure if Arf is still alive because if she can't sense her familiar--]

[really... a familiar? What did she think he was? Some sort of wizard?]
No, my dear, simply a friend of mine.

[And a "familiar" just sounded so... animalistic. He would not have an extension of his existence degraded to such a term.]

It's impossible to forget. Even though I am organic again my memory seems to have not decreased in effectiveness like it did last time.

[Really, he was going to have to get this pet of his to read some more books or something of the like. He needed some sort of guide on how normal people spoke...]

But why wouldn't I? It happened.

Well all things considered I do believe I have given you aid when you needed it. I would hate to think where you would be should something happen to that physical body of yours and I were not able to mend it. As I recall you are not fond of feeling pain.
[disregarding the fact that he cannot in fact mend it this week. He doesn't need to know how his powers work.]
I am a patient man, my friend, but under no circumstances do I tolerate disrespect.
[unless he deems you worth it... but even then his patience is testy.]
