[Kate Beckett's found her way into the third floor library. She's only been at the Manor for about 45 minutes; the bulk of that spent poking around the bedroom, and a good ten minutes of that staring at her nameplate on the door.

She wondered for a while if she was dead. The last thing she remembers before waking up in the room is being shot, and ( Read more... )

[So.. he's not a balloon thing any more, but that doesn't stop him from having a bit of a bounce in his step as he heads up to the library. It's quiet in there; he can sit and think.

Maybe read. Maybe write.

He wanders into the large room and heads over to sit down pausing when he hears a familiar voice.

Noooooooo...It can't be...

He peeks around a corner and spies Beckett.

Yes! It is....

Castle stands at the end of the row for a moment watch, quietly before clearing his throat.]

Personally, I like to think that God is a Richard Castle fan.

[Becket is just going to... stare in shock for a while.]

Castle?!

[He's just going to lean against the book shelf and wait for her to speak. When she does he 'Ahs' and takes a few steps toward her.]

Beckett. When did you get in?

I... I woke up in a room upstairs 45 minutes ago.

[She pauses for a second, all of things now falling together in her head.]

My... room, with my name on the door and some of my things-

Castle, did you kidnap me?!

[Naoto was kind of relieved to know she wasn't a butterfly any more and not it meant that she can go read, study and just generally do something during the calm before the storm. Going through the various books she picks out a detective book that caught her attention.

Looking over she spotted someone she hadn't seen before.]

You must be new here, correct?

[Beckett looks up from her blackberry at the newcomer, frowning.]

You could say that. Any chance you could tell me what here is?

[She opens up a page in her book, her finger tracing it lightly.]

I can answer that. With the information that I have gather from various other sources it seems that we are logically in some place known simply as the manor.

[She turned the page over, her eyes still looking down at the book.]

This isn't a normal kidnapping, far from it in fact. it's...quite hard to explain even for me.

There is nothing about this that qualifies as normal.

How many more people are here?

[Gokudera was just walking down the hall, with a little cup of ramen noodles. It was nice to actually eat something besides berries and when cereal now that he was no longer the flaming fox-poodle thing.

and there is some chick... just... talkin' to herself. He peeks in, the opportunity of just being an ass was too tempting. It's been a while since he felt like he could just be himself after the incident with the angel... and by 'being himself' he meant being a total dick.]

Y'know it's a bad sign when you're talkin' to yourself and answerin' back.

[Kate swings around and glares at him, obviously not appreciative of the commentary.]

Really? Because I though the bad sign was waking up in some weird mansion with no memory of how I got there. Right now, talking to myself is the least of my worries.

Well really sucks to be you, don't it?

[And he's just going to start digging into his ramen right here. Just to show how much he cares.]

[Now Beckett is just getting annoyed.]

I'm sorry, do I know you?

[Returning a book (or several) to their rightful places, Elphaba's surprised to hear someone else in the library; she's used to it being empty. Investigating, she soon finds the latest edition to the manor]

You're not dead, if it's any consolation

[Beckett is really trying to not stare. But waking up in a weird mansion is off putting enough, and even more so when you just randomly bump into some lady with green skin.]

Sorry if I don't take your word for it right away. This isn't exactly... normal for me.

Can't say I blame you; it isn't really normal for any of us here..

[Sliding the last book in her hands onto the shelf absently, before looking back at Beckett]

What's your name?

[Beckett's still trying to do her best not to stare.]

Kate Beckett. I'm a homicide detective with the NYPD. ... Can you tell me where I am?

[Mello observes this woman. At first he's not impressed, as is usual with most of the new arrivals, but his thumb hovers over the button as he observes the way the she observes the Manor. Not like most newcomers who just wander about like headless chickens asking for help or answers. This woman is looking for her own answers, and not asking for help.

Not exactly awe-inspiring, but still intriguing]

What is your profession? [He texts off-handedly, deciding to do some investigating of his own]

[Beckett is a little shocked when she receives the text. Instinctively, she looks around her, not aware that she'd been transmitting. It doesn't take her long to text back.]

Homicide detective with the NYPD.

[She's not surprised by that question, so she's a little wary.]

Yes, real cops usually do. Who is this?
