*Heiji is lying in bed, and doesn't look entirely happy about being there. There's a slight haze about the room at the edges of the picture

[Aha...no. She's so very far from dealing with her ghost and it's more than obvious she hasn't slept much in the last week. But if she could help someone then she would...it would give her a purpose.
Something that she was severely lacking right now...]
Ya can just walk in if ya want. I'd get up, but I broke my leg durin' the fears week, an' a splint isn't th' best thing t' walk on. *sure. NOW he's sensible about it*
*he does take in the details of her appearance. Maybe he could help her with her own problems, as well as stave away boredom for awhile. She doesn't look like she should be up and about any more than he does*
[It was close to fifteen minutes before she arrived, tapping on the door before she pushed it open. She would have been quicker...but she couldn't bring herself to hurry since it wasn't a real emergency.
Sitting on the end of his bed, Mary ran a hand over her face.]
*he'd sat up properly before she got there, bandaged leg propped up on a pillow, and felt guilty about asking her to talk when she arrived. As bad as she looked on camera, in person it was clear that whatever was haunting her was far worse than his own shades.
The ghosts weren't entirely corporeal, though they filled the entire room with a grey haze. When focused on they appeared as people, men, women, young, old, some with white wounds that indicated how they died. Most looked sad at the lives they could no longer have. None of them made a single sound, but their presence was heavy.
Heiji shakes his head and smiles. The smile is real, but it probably wouldn't even take an experienced hunter to tell that the words are just him trying to be strong*
Other than some old regrets? Nothing at all. I'm just stuck in bed and bored out've my mind.
[Well, he's ... in a room. Definitely not theirs. And he's sitting with his back to a corner where you can't see much of it, although you can see the ghost of a girl back in the shadowed corner watching Saguru - college-age, and pretty badly mutilated... not only that, but the damage all looks very methodical - it wouldn't take much of a detective to guess that this wasn't so much 'quick and violent' as 'incredibly slow'.]
Sorry about that. I'd have been around, but ... I've had my hands a little full helping someone else with theirs - and one a good bit more ... unpleasant than our regrets.
I'd hope not. I'd hate to think the times you've proven yourself competent were a fluke. [Snark. Because snark solves everything! And yes he did just call you competent. And no, he hasn't been sleeping more than catnaps, and he's going on two weeks of that now... dark circles and all.]
[Well, his ghost had a tendency to disappear in the evenings... otherwise Hayato would just forgo sleep just to talk to her or even watch her. However he was in far too good a mood to sleep. He comes on the screen with a rather uncharacteristic smile on his face]
My ghost is just fine. Not here now though. What's up?

The door bursts open and a small girl comes running in. ]
Heiji!
[ She leaps and lands on top of his stomach. Laughing and giggling. ] Chidori came to play!

He probably shouldn't think of Kazuha. He still misses her like mad.
Right, staving off boredom, and trying to remember where the painkillers are*
What didja have in mind?

Ah. Opps, sorry ... I forgot about your leg.
[ She quickly jumps off him. And stands beside the bed giving him a salute in apology. ]
I didn't think of that yet ... Chidori is bored too.
Hnmmm ... though talking to a ghost was interesting. She was really pretty.

*his own ghosts are out of view. He's decided to largely ignore them*

[The teens smile broadens and a blush creeps on his cheeks, all accompanied by an awkward neck rub. Jeez was he really that easy to read?]
