[Here's something that hasn't happened in a while. Saguru is in the study, and very clearly is taking this broadcast slightly formally ... as much as he seems a little ruffled and irritated somehow.Good day to everyone - I wish I were doing this with better news, but unfortunately, we're not quite that lucky yet ( Read more... )

[Oh dear, this doesn't sound good. Luckily she should be about healed by then, if not then well enough that she could actually do some good. ...or she could just stick to the exorcisms.]

Since I'm sure that for a household this size you'll never have enough volunteers; I'd like to volunteer for helping with defense.

[For a deceptively dainty woman, she had one hell of a bite when it was really needed.]

Thank you. I'll try to get something up again just before next week's over, so everyone knows who else to look out for - We used to have a fairly stable group, but some of them I haven't seen for a while, so we likely need to re-organize.

[He's not going to doubt that she's capable - most of this Manor is "abnormal" enough that he's used to being squishier than everyone else... so he's erring on the side of trusting people to report their own abilities.]

I'm not sure how much it will be needed, but I'm also very well skilled in the spiritual side of defense. [And if he was serious about wanting to protect everyone, surely he had an idea of what supplies would be needed for such an endeavor.]

Do you also need weapons? I could see what I can find around the manor, maybe see about making some various things for protection.

Hopefully nothing will be needed, but it's always better to be prepared and not need it, than to need it and be caught off guard.

I'm afraid the extent of my combat training is gun-related, and ammunition is iffy here; I might be able to scrounge, but I'm not the best here for a fight - but having things handy, even if it's improvised weapons that someone like me could flail with, would help. Is there anything I should look out for that you might need? [He's not really familiar with more than iron horseshoes over a door, salt, and his St. Christopher's medallion, actually - but if it's possibly going to come up, then he's more than happy to ask someone who knows.]

[Well, here's some more learning for Naoto, the author likes to play with plots during the seasons.]

I'll be willing to volunteer for defence. I may not have been here for log, but I can see help of course.

[And there's another new one that apparently has abilities that would deal with monsters...]

Thank you. I'll get something up just before October starts so that the people willing to help fight for defense know who they're working with.

Very well, I'll make sure to keep an eye out.

Until then - Trisana Chandler and Dean Winchester have both volunteered in the past, so if something comes up before I have things together, they're both capable backup.

[TBH he doesn't trust the change of scenery here, either...]

October does seem to have a theme of spooky. I remember last year we had ghosts of people we knew for one week for example, then haunting and even a Halloween party where we were stuck in costumes we were allowed to get out of.

So, I can always help when it comes to the first signs, since I would know what we might be looking for.

[It's also come to a giant realisation that dear god he's been here for a year.]

Thank you. Make sure you get yourself somewhere safe if you do see things popping up, too - Tris is back and is still a volunteer for help, and I'm sure you know some of the others that have been here longer.

[Saguru's close to that too, scarily enough.]

Where the ghosts more "acting like themselves", or more malicious horror movie haunting? And with the costumes, was it something where people retained their normal personalities?

Well, I remember mine was my Grandma, so yes, she was acting like herself and getting me confused with my brother.

As for the costumes, we had a party when it happened, so it really was only for that one night. So we had our personalities still there.

Hmm. [He's pondering this.] Hopefully it'll follow the same pattern, then - possibly unsettling but nonhostile is always better than the alternative, although I think it's still a good idea to prepare for the worst.

[And there's almost a moment of -something about the costumes.] I'm amazed she passed up the opportunity for that one.

So last year around this time was mostly tame? [He still doesn't trust it - not after the zombies and what else has gone on...]

[Sorry Saguru, but expect Rapunzel to take a while to figure out how this works, since no one has done so beforehand. First her eye appears on the screen, close up.]

Is this thing on?

[He's getting used to tech fail, by now; after all, there are a lot of others that aren't from periods that had things like this.]

Yes, it is - don't worry, there's a good handful of people here that've had to adjust.

[She soon moves it back, jumping slightly when she notices omg someone on the other side.....how did it do that?]

How did you get in there?

Well, I don't know how much use I can be with defence, I just know very basic stuff still, but I can keep a look out on the plot.

It'll still help; the sooner we have a clue what's going on and how much of a threat it is, the sooner we can try to make sure there aren't any deaths or injuries we could've avoided.

Though as I remember from last year, there wasn't much that could actually harm people. A small joke here and there if I remember, but apart from that it was rather fun.

I hope that's all it is - I'd rather look silly for being overprepared, but .... things like the zombie-infested city, the slasher-flick killer, and all make me worry about what the Author might come up with this year.
