[Here's something that hasn't happened in a while. Saguru is in the study, and very clearly is taking this broadcast slightly formally ... as much as he seems a little ruffled and irritated somehow.]
Good day to everyone - I wish I were doing this with better news, but unfortunately, we're not quite that lucky yet.
As you may have noticed, it's nearly October. This is actually a serious problem. You see, so far the Author has been gracing us with events based on holidays - specifically those of the Earth US calendar - which means that we're approaching Halloween.
For those not familiar with it, I won't go into the entire history, but Halloween has basically evolved into a celebration of the macabre - haunted houses set up as attractions, scary stories running on all media for the entire month, people decorating their houses with cobwebs and fake zombies...
Unfortunately, the Author being the Author, while I wasn't here for last Halloween to know what horrors were inflicted then in detail, I don't doubt that she's not going to pass up the chance to get in the "Holiday Spirit". There's no way of knowing how soon she'll start it, either, and this could mean anything from a return of the invincible squirrel-infested "slasher flick killer", to demon clowns, to another zombie apocalypse, to hauntings or monster attacks. Whatever happens, it probably won't be pleasant.
Which is why, particularly considering that the population's shifted since the last time an attempt at this was made, I think it's a wise idea to get an idea of volunteers for those willing to help other residents or at least band together to increase everyone's odds. I'll be trying to get ahold of everyone else who's helped in the past when we've had something insane happen; in the meantime, there's a few things we're likely to end up needing.
First off is medics and healers; anyone with medical experience or healing magic who's willing to volunteer to help treat injuries.
Second is defense - if whatever comes up is something that can be fought, then anyone who feels they're capable of fighting monsters or whatever else she might throw at us would be welcome help; if it's something more abstract, then we may need anyone who's familiar with exorcisms, spirit bindings, and ways to ward things out of areas to keep safe spaces in case of malicious ghosts or demons.
Also, starting with the beginning of October, if anyone notices anything out of place or off that might be the start of one of her plots - it would be much appreciated if it could be broadcast, even anonymously, for the sake of spreading the warning.
