I think you're right about the killer mimicking people in the manor- I can't say for sure on the first two victims but the third- a while back Mello killed someone because they were attacking- he aimed right between the eyes- he didn't take out the kneecaps at that time but it that is also a method used in the mafia- as I'm sure you know.
--If our killer is using the ductwork then I suggest- as a precaution we turn the heater up so that no one can crawl through the ducts.
I'll check the list of residents for people we don't see often- though Mello is pretty sure he knows who it is-not that, that makes them the killer.
[Heavy metal music is playing loudly in the background. The sounds of laughter and fire, things breaking and burning, beer bottles shattering can be heard in this din. Tom's voice has a slight edge to it, mostly from having to shout over the noise and it's pretty gravelly.]
The more noise is made out here, the less likely the killer will come out here and the more noise inside going on, the less likely he'll try. Headache inducing or not, it's better than being picked off one at a time.
And with everyone in a group, it's better since we're not in our rooms and we're visible. Why not stage an anti-protest rally for those that don't like this? It'll get them out and in the open.
[You won't see it, but some of it might come through in his voice; it's the first time Saguru's smiled all week.]
My thoughts exactly - they're going after people that're going off to be alone in peace and quiet; the rioters are probably fairly safe, as long as they're attentive to their surroundings and where people will notice them.
Someone else is more than welcome to; I'd prefer if any of the protesters that see something are willing to talk to one of us. I'd just hope anyone organizing such is careful to not turn it into a brawl; I doubt Dende or the boy that volunteered to heal out there want to clean that up, and the doctors end up with enough on their hands as it is.
Why not talk that pirate that just went inside with the bullhorn into it? He's probably out there right now scaring off the killer. He seems to be having fun with that thing.
[Tom's trying not to laugh at the stupidity of Jack's noise pollution but he does see the point in it even if it's unintentional.]
Or something - I just don't want to see this turn into petty arguments... which I'm sure not only make the killer's work easier, but are probably entertaining the Author to no end.
Saguru Hakuba... I wish it were better circumstances.
True enough, although I wouldn't be surprised if an accomplice ends up among the victims, from what I know so far; as for the riot, it's a Catch-22 - the rioters are safer because they're visible and less likely to be easily caught off guard and alone, while people getting away from the noise are easier prey.
For what it's worth - you shouldn't have been punished... And that's part of why I want to make sure the Author isn't a part of whatever we manage to make of things.
Priorities. You're not my enemy. I could get upset, but it'd waste energy I could spend on something useful. If the time and circumstances were different, I might've joined in on the ruckus, but right now, I prefer focusing on this.
I don't dislike my job, but I hate finding dead bodies. [Particularly dead bodies he knows.]

I'll throw what I've found at Mello; I meant to talk to him anyway - see if it matches his suspect.

People shouldn't assume there's only one person involved.
I'm Lucy, by the way, nice to meet you 'voice of reason'.
