[This is not Thairos. For one thing, it's raining. She practically had to fight to get the normal storms to come to Thairos. For another, she woke up in what seems to be an inn that is far more opulent than even her famous teacher would stay at. Also, the lighting here is exceedingly odd.]

[There's very little chance she could have gotten ( Read more... )

[Shaking off the water under an awning is a very wet dragon. It was fine since she didn't have fur but the water was a bit cold which made her a little lazy. She looks up and smells magic which causes her to blink and tilt her head slightly. Her ears are back which depicted a bit of caution but her body suggests curiosity.]

[That's wet! That's also an-- an--

oh my goodness. Congrats, Toothless, you got the Angry Mage to stop being quite so angry! She's staring at you a little, though.]

Are you trying to get dry? [It really doesn't take Tris much effort at all to expand her 'umbrella' to cover Toothless and the distance between them, and that's exactly what she's going to do.]

[She looks up and blinks, wondering how the water stopped hitting her but she's happy to be out of the cold water. She lumbers forward, sniffing and blinking then gives a yawn. Cold and reptiles never went hand in hand. What made matters worse was her inability to fly since one of her fins has been torn off from a failed capture that would have been successful.

She purrs and gives a slight nuzzle in gratitude.]

[...Oh goodness. Toothless, you just made Tris's heart melt a little. She's going to pet at you.] Your skin's all scales... are you like a snake or a lizard, then?

[And wandering the streets, having been vaguely smart enough to find a white umbrella, is one teenage "boy" who's finally taking the time from being spazzy to ...]

[Well, if he can't do anything constructive, then there's no use freaking out, is there? So he's been shopping, and is munching on a pastry with a couple large bags, some of which is "things he's stashing and hoping he can take back for Mina".]

[Soma, you're doing bad things to her vision the minute you come anywhere near her field of vision. She can't really help that startled yell in "useful" Tradertalk, which will go untranslated for the sake of the illusion that Tris Does Not Swear. She is going to yank off her glasses and put them somewhere safe and put her hands over her eyes.]

My head...

[Soma looks up over his pastry, blinking in confusion and Utter Innocence.]

Mnrfhrbh? [it takes him a second to juggle the pastry out of his mouth.] You OK?

[Tris can't see you.] I've seen better days. [She sounds very very grouchy, and her hair is sparking a little.]

[Kuja is strolling down the street, once again having done more shopping in another very feminine outfit. It had been getting colder at the manor recently and his usual clothing just wasn't cutting it, he'd have to bring it back come spring time the way things were looking. He stopped when he saw the rain stop around the girl. His brow cocked as he approached her curiously.]

So we have another new role brought to the performance?

[Tris is pretty sure you're a lady, Kuja. Even if you are dressed funny. Everyone here seems to be dressed funny. Though your usual outfit might give her an aneurysm.]

Excuse me? [She's bristling a little.]

[Because he totally is secretly /shot. Kuja just chuckles and stands with his hip cocked giving her a once over.]

You're a new face around here that isn't some faceless drone. You are another who has fallen victim to the Hack Writer's lackluster's 'story'.

[Are you laughing at me?]

I'd heard about that. [Her tone is fairly flat.]

[Like the wolf bounding through the streets, this one is hard to miss.

She simply RADIATES magic. A surprise, as the only humans with magic he's met so far have been exceedingly weak. Truth be told, Sebastian was not aware a human could be this strong with magic. He regards her a bit warily - again, like Soma, it's likely she will be able to sense his nature as much as he can sense hers. But hiding from her is pointless and rather obvious. Luckily she is being obvious herself, with a seemingly invisible umbrella over her head.

And so, he approaches her with a polite smile and a slight bow.]

Good day to you, Miss.

[Tris can certainly see something different about you, Sebastian. And it's sort of hard to hide that she's a mage- she'd be given away the first time she lost her cool. She's watching warily, making sure to keep looking at Sebastian straight-on.]

Hello.

I couldn't help but notice your rather amazing feat. [He nods a bit toward her invisible dome of dryness.] And that brought to mind that I do not recognize you, and I do try my best to greet new guests when I can. Might I ask if anyone has explained the situation to you as of yet? If not, you are likely confused and possibly angered.

[Not that that would take a genius to figure out, based on the sight of her.]

This? This is nothing. [Tris is extending it to cover you as well.]

It's- been explained, though I'm not happy about it. I have responsibilities at home. [Like catching a serial killer and strangling everyone in Thairos responsible for the way they handle murders teaching her student.] The so-called "author" could have chosen a much better time.
