From what I have been told we have been kidnapped by a girl known only as the Author and this is simply called the Manor. We however have no means of escaping and are subjected to various 'plots' as they are called. So this leads me to believe we are in a story of some sort.

However I am just as in the dark as to the reason why we have been brought here, I can only say that from the information I have gathered from other residents here, that we have been brought here by a girl known to them simply as the Author. We are in a story she is trying to write. As it seems she is capable of taking people from any world she so desires to accomplish this.
I appreciate it sounds ridiculous, I still don't quite believe it myself, but that is what I've been told by those who replied to my questions.
