Come Friday morning, she will be on her ( Read more... )

If you lose due to neglecting your king, learn from this and reset the board, instead of losing more games due to lack of focus.

It's hard to neglect a king in a game where it is the only piece you truly control. Even though, in a place like this, it's more like playing chess where you cannot control any outcome, not even the permanence of your death. Mayfield is a spectator's game, I feel.

[Keiichi knows that, with Bernkastel back in town, Rika's likely to be...he wasn't sure. There was no possible way he could understand how the girl felt and the thought attempting to describe something so important was simply disrespectful.]

...Hey, Rika!

Ah...

[ She takes a moment to recover 'Furude Rika's' voice and try to smile, even if he can't see that over the phone. ]

mi-. Keiichi. Hello, sir. May I help you?

I'm in danger and only Rika can save me!

Danger? Where are you, Keiichi? I will come!

[ She's snapped out of her angsty mood, at least. ]

[ Rika flinches and nearly falls off of the window sill she was angsting on before. He's probably the last person she wants knowing about this. ]

A-al-papa? M-mi. What has you up so l-late? [ Hoping she can pretend he never heard that. ]

I see... mi. It is nothing to worry about. I was practicing for a play. [ Worse excuse ever. But she's not used to being caught.]

... Grape juice. [ Which she not-so-suspiciously chugs, hoping he won't be able to figure it out if it's gone. ]

[Lion isn't sure if that really is Rika over the phone, but he answers anyway.]

Yes, I think that's all we can do at this point, to savour what peace we have in this place...

Hm... It's a terrible thing to realize.

Yes. I don't know if we can even really enjoy that peace, knowing that sooner or later something will happen.

If you do not take a moment to attempt to enjoy it, then the gap between horrors will only drive you insane.
