Got home from work and saw this, what a lovely surprise to come home to. Seeing a fic post from you always brings a smile to my face, especially on days like today where my car battery was dead and nobody seemed to remember how to act right. :)

So basically I'm pretty much in love with this whole chapter, really, every bit of it makes me have all kinds of feels. Here, have some reactions:

Suddenly, it feels like everything will be just fine.
Awww, right off the bat.

I just love the family dynamic you capture here, even though tensions are strained. Even though we only caught maybe a little glimpse of it on the show, it seems totally plausible and very them.

"Wait," Damon says, holding up a hand. "Which James Bond? Because seriously, I've been around for all of them, and if it ain't Sean Connery, it better be Daniel Craig, because the rest are shit."
AND
"You know, just because you're staying here doesn't mean you get to boss everyone around."

Damon mutters something that sounds distinctly like, "The hell it doesn't,"Bust

Just to put your dirty mind to ease, Damon didn't do anything to Elena when he put her to bed. I mean, maybe he kissed her forehead. For sure he brushed his fingers over her cheek. Then he came downstairs and told Jeremy that she had agreed to trying the Damon Salvatore Kool-aid :D

The whole Bonnie thing got me when she started talking about Elena and Caroline. Like, oh, OT3 sistas forever. It just really pierced my heart.

I loved Jeremy and Damon have a fight. It was just...so, ungh. I mean, it really hurt Jeremy for Damon to be mean to him, and that surprised me, but then I realized, come on, he really thinks they're buddies now! But they're still boys, they aren't going to get too touchy feely. So Jeremy had a dad-scene with Ric instead :D

I loved this chapter, every part of it: Damon's opinion on James Bond's actors (BTW, I agree with him), Sheila/Bonnie scene, Alaric constant protective presence and of course Damon/Elena.

I really enjoyed this chapter and the fact that Stefan didn't show up during any of the family bonding. I kept expecting him to come over and spoil the vibe so I was thrilled that you kept him away. Loved all the family moments and that Damon and Jeremy have a strong enough relationship that not only do they fight and make up but Damon lets him drive his car. I liked the dynamics you created during their fight and that Jeremy's feelings got hurt.

Go Jeremy macking on Bonnie and Alaric's reaction. Jeremy's right Bonnie's grandma was one intimidating woman.

Can't wait to see how Damon and Elena deal with her slip because it was set up by very believable circumstances. Hopefully she'll listen and not withdraw from Damon and Jeremy. Thanks for updating.

Ha, it never even occurred to me that Stefan would show up and ruin things...he's pretty much trying to sort out things on his own (or possibly with Caroline) and he doesn't think he's presence is helping Elena very much. So there was no danger of him showing up.

Jeremy's just a kid, so I loved Ric giving him a bit of advice there in the love dept. He's growing up and figuring things out, but he needs that. And Damon + Jeremy FTW! I love them so much!

Elena has an interesting way of dealing with what just happened....hopefully that will ring true, too.

I know, right? I loved the idea of Damon and Elena not really knowing what to do with each. D: Wanna watch a movie? E: Okay. and they just stay in the house. Sort of funny.

Poor Bonnie, right? But Jer was there to make her feel good ;-)
