For the most part, I try to avoid WIPs. I much prefer the one-shot; it works for me with time, instant gratification, and sometimes inspires my own writing. But there are a couple authors that I follow over at The Pit and they write WIPs and I always get sucked in. So I am sharing my woe in the hopes that there will be others like me, endlessly

The ending actually came out more optimistic than I planned o_O. I surprised myself, truth to be told.
(I'm sorry I'm replying here, not on my own lj. I thought I'd have internet today, but I still don't. My phone hates some layouts more than other, so, ironically, commenting on your journal is easier than commenting on mine.)
A completely random remark: I came back to my Lost rewatch. I just finished 3x01, and OMG, you were so right! The way Jack treats Sarah is downright creepy. Also, Juliet's face is giving me feelings.

I really liked that fic. I was thinking about earlier when I was driving, and I just felt like it was so full of possibility, and it was mostly because Stefan wasn't even in it. Damon and Elena's problems were about Damon and Elena, and thus overcomeable :D

Do you write longer WIPs at all? Or do you generally wait until the fic is done to post them? I love oneshots too, but I've recently discovered the joy of writing longer WIPs. Well, longer WIPs that are meticulously outlined so I know exactly what happens. ;)

The funny thing about the characterization in that one fic--I didn't find Damon or Elena out of character, I just saw it as a possibility of where they could go now, based on what's happened, so to me, they still feel in-character. But Meredith didn't feel in-character. It was an odd experience!
