Haha, I never thought of Damon's well-documented bathing proclivity in that light before!

Other than during the 50's dance, we haven't seen Elena really broach the topic with either of her vampire beau's.

He's taken her on wild goose chases over and over and over, creating an elaborate hoax of searching for someone that he's known the exact location of the whole time.

I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING.

Damon/bath tub deserves sonnets written about it, so this was the best I could come up with!

Loved the backstory about Damon and his love of baths. . .totally makes sense. I hate that he expects that she will go back to Stefan and that she doesn't have the courage to truly follow her heart but your ending gave me hope because she was honest. Any chance you'll continue because I would love to see what happens when Stefan comes home.

This was always intended to just be a one-shot; having just written a multi-chapter monster, I wasn't ready to get back into anything that was a big commitment. I tried to leave it open-ended in a way that made D/E shippers hopeful. Damon, as fatalistic as he is, even ends on the upward note, so it's implied that he's patient enough to wait and Elena will come to the OBVIOUS and LOGICAL conclusion! ;-)

I am utterly speechless b/c this was so good! Of course, I knew it would be amazing before I even clicked on it to read, but still, you know what I'm getting at ;) I love how we got both Damon and Elena's thoughts in this fic, and the raw emotion of it. I loved how Elena teased Damon about his baths (and the yummy imagery that inspired) and I loved the fight and how it led to sexy times in the end, and just...everything. Loved it!

And I know...I need to stop reading fic and get back to writing it. I'm almost done, I swear. I'm just so relieved that I have until at least the first week of October to finish it, b/c work is seriously draining my energy levels and Tyler being home all last week complicated things further. All else fails, you can at least read the fight/make up scene tonight ;)

I was wondering about you this week, but I didn't want send an email of doom if you were already stressed out. I'll have time this weekend for sure, and at least a night or two next week should be open!

I loved the whole bath thing, too. I think I could write an ode to Damon and the bathtub because it's one of my most favorite things ever...

I would love to read that!!! I imagine there would be mentions of bubbles, and how sexy his hair is when wet? And the glistening of the water droplets on his perfectly chiseled abs...yeah, my mind totally forgot what we were talking about ;p

I appreciate it that you didn't send me the email of doom :) I was so stressed it wasn't even funny. I have another shift on Sunday, b/c we're setting up the Christmas shop (I know, I think it's insane to have it that early too) so I'm trying to make some major progress on the final chapter today and tomorrow. I will keep you posted. I'm still convinced your fic is better though ;)

Wow. Nice view inside Elena's head and poor Damon, so fatalistic. Their relationship always seems to be teetering and neither one will push it over. And yay for the bitey *small flail* (because I'm working and my co-workers would be confused)
