I love that whenever anybody starts watching the show, they FLY through the thing like it's their job. TVD is like Pringles in DVD form: once you pop start watching you can't stop.
THEY SAID ALL OF THIS WITHOUT MY PROMPTING, MIND YOU.
She said, in a voice of total innocence. Don't worry, I believe you and would never suggest you are protesting too much! :P
Sarah was like, "Get over it, he's not dead!"
Hahaha, I like Sarah. It also cracks me up that after a single episode of thinking about it, Jeremy seemed to come to the same conclusion, like the good boy that he is. And then he had other priorities, like following Damon around like a puppy, flirting with Tyler, then falling for Bonnie. So basically, exactly the sort of lifestyle choices that I can completely agree with.
Well, they knew going in that I LOVE DAMON LIKE A RABID FANGIRL A LOT, but still, their formation of their own opinions was completely without my input. It was really fun to have them reference particular scenes where they felt empathy for Damon, and how bummed they were when they realized Katherine had pretended to be Elena. So fun!
I know, I really like that aspect of Jeremy too, that he just gets over it and starts worrying about things that are more important! (Like getting Bonnie!)
Wow, Good to know that it effects guys like that as well. Hmmm, you have given me an idea, I think now I should start poking my Guy friends and my cousins real hard this time. Most of them doesn't want to see it because they say, its a TV series appropriate for only female gender, because all the pretty boys. I was like "Oh please, Watch it, before criticizing it, watch the story prperly". Now, because of you, I have proof, that even GUYS love TVD and especially DAMON!
My best friend, who happens to be a girl, doesn't want to watch it, because it is cult based O_O :( , I have been practically shoving TVD S1 on her face, making her listen to the TVD songs, blabbering about Damon and the story teed-bits and what not for a long time. I want them to see the awesomeness of TVD and Damon Salvatore, but it doesn't seem to work, you have any bright ideas?
Sarah puts her hand on his arm and says, "Oh, but he's sad."
Your friend doesn't want to watch it because she thinks it's about the Occult (as in Satan worship)? I would think the most important thing would be to explain that it's not about that. Vampires and werewolves don't have anything to do with that, and though witchcraft is often thought to be associated with the Occult, it isn't, and particularly in TVD, the witches tend to use their powers for good.
Otherwise, I don't know. If she's scared of it, and can't be convinced that's it's not evil, there's not much you can do. If she's not comfortable with it, she's just not comfortable with it.
I don't know, I don't think her view about TVD is not as something concerning Satanic worship or evil, she just thinks it's lame because its about vampires, werewolves, you know mythical creatures.
What's bad is when people mock something they don't know. That's what happens to me, when I go in to advocate for TVD. As soon as the word "Vampire" comes out of my mouth, they're like "oh...I don't know, I am not sure if I 'll like it or not" followed by snickers and eye rolls. I just wish people actually made an effort to see it, before reaching a verdict.
Haha! I love this! It reminds me of when I finally got my best friend to watch the show. I TOTALLY forced her to wait for me before she watched "The Return" for the very reasons that you listed!
All the male TVD viewers that I've come in contact with LOVE Damon most hard. In fact, one of the reasons I love reading Thomas Galvin's recaps (besides the hilarity) is that he just CAN NOT HIDE his love for Damon. I like to see that guys think he's awesome, too. I have yet to find a guy that goes on and on about how awesome Stefan is. *raises eyebrow*
His Damon love CRACKS ME UP SO HARD!!! (And while I disagree because I love her, I gotta say his Bonnie hate is pretty hilarious to read too. I mean, I think I'd laugh at him hating on everyone, even Damon, he's so funny. I am quite glad that he loves Damon, though.)
