Second paragraph.

The cashier rudely told him there was no public restroom. ... So I go in and ask is there a restroom. The cashier was very nice and told me that the restroom was to my left and down the hall way.

Edit: I should clarify, that when I said "the woman" in the original comment I was referring to the OP whose gender I don't know. I assumed that the OP was female in my comment (and apologies to the OP!)

Assuming you're talking about the Bay Area cafe where each cup is brewed individually, it's just Philz, no apostrophe. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the baristas may feel Starbucks is the Sith-tainted anti-coffee, but I will say the people in the San Francisco one near the Caltraind depot seemed nice and non-snobby at least.

Seems strange that the cashier would be rude to your friend, but sunbeams and lollipops when you asked. Did the cashier try to stop him after you told him where the restrooms were?

After I told my guy friend where the restroom was, he was too embarrassed to go back inside the shop. We had tried to get him to back inside to see what would happen, but he didn't want to make a scene.
