According to the story, the OP is near him the entire time and they only interacted with the cashier before that while trying to buy a drink so......... doubtful at best? Why is it so unbelievable that a male receives bad service from a female? Do we really need to be scrounging up reasons as to why the cashier is justified being bizarrely rude for no reason?

Actually, you didn't specify whether the cashier was male or female ;)
