I am fascinated by how much control admin exert over a site; in a word, how much bull they can get away with doing to their members. How they can treat newcomers or people who only want equal or fair treatment like crap, and ban people for bringing up points that everyone else agrees with, but are too afraid to address.

Pern is a small world. When you start drama, everyone eventually finds out.

As for who's in the wrong, I'd like to hear the other side before passing judgement. Until then: lawl fighting over clutchers and shinies.

I agree everyone finds out. What I don't agree with is the definition of 'drama'. I think that being given the title of someone who causes such when you are simply stating what everyone else is already saying, or standing up against something that is totally wrong...? Well, you can hear the other side, if you'd like. It's on this site, you have only to look it up. The other side of the story would be simply that I was horrible as a mod--and I was, in a way. I had a lot of RL problems and didn't do my hatching not even close to on time. I should have asked for help and did not. Yet I would have had my entire clutch hatch on time, had it not been taken over. I had notes for all of them, and the quality was /far/ better than what it usually had been. ie. there are never write ups for personalities, appearance, or anything. It is an image and an Impression. Yet I should have not left it so late.

I'm pretty sure you do know who I am. I'm willing to bet that the admin are members of this site, because I have seen the nasty posts they have made. I'm pretty sure that what I have done does not qualify me as a bad rp'er, and if you had read the entire post, you could deduct that for yourself.

Don't know who you are. But you can be a member of that site, it's fine. If you're one of the members who was in that group chat complaining to me...not so fine. You should have had the courage to speak up for yourself. If you're one of the admin pets, it must be nice to be in that group who are treated better than the others. Not so nice for those others.

Call me a cynic, but I have never seen anyone make this claim without it actually being a way of preemptively declaring themselves an ass.

This accounting is way too biased for me to find entirely believable.

Also: I have nothing to do with Pern and have no idea who you or the admins are.

That's okay if you have no idea. And it is kind of cynical. I'm honest with others and speak my mind. I don't think doing so makes a person an ass. It's better than someone who bashes people behind their backs, IMO. It's not biased. I've stated what I did 'wrong', the results, and my take on it. I don't agree it was wrong.

There are two kinds of people who pride themselves in being 'honest at all costs'.

The very young, and the very self-centered.

The alternative to brutal honesty is not backstabbing and lying. It is not candy coating or avoiding or being a door-mat. It is learning how to, when a thing is relevant, to present the honesty in a way that is not hurtful and, more importantly, when to sit down and shut up - because someone's feelings are more important than the OMG!TRUTH.

You are right...someone's, and many someone's, were far more important than being banned over the 'OMG!TRUTH.' It is being a doormat. It is backstabbing and lying. Because that's exactly what the members coming to me and complaining and not speaking up were doing, and complaining about. When you sit down and shut up, it's because it's not worth bringing up, and it might only involve yourself being unhappy with something.

I'm not young, and I can't say I'm never self-centered, because at some point or in some way everyone is. Only that I would try not to be if I found out I was.
