Rudeness, you're doing it right!

Dude,
Asking the admin of a new game if they have an instant messaging service so you can speak to them because you "have experience running an RP site" and you have some suggestions just comes off as douchebaggery.

needs moar fail

Unless of course the site owner is obviously struggling. I've been helped many times by people who have made the same email to me and I've aided people in the same way.

That is true, but there seems to be no struggling going on here at all. I'm rather pleasantly surprised by the quality of this game as opposed to some other new games I've joined with more staff. :D

Yeah, without more context as to how they phrased it, I'm not going to call this a fail either. It IS possible to offer friendly and helpful advice and have it be precisely that. Not every offer of aid is a backhanded insult. Sometimes people are genuinely sincere in their motives! It happens!

As a mod, I'm always open to hearing ideas. So long as they're suggested in a reasonable way. I had one player that was constantly criticising changes I made (often in a condescending manner), despite the fact that I sought the advice of several player beforehand, and eventually just started ignoring him, but almost all of the time, I'm receptive at least to listen.
