'Go Away' does not mean 'I love You'

Good day all. I figured it was finally time for me to post something. This is an ongoing RP, so who knows. We may get follow-ups.

I'm currently doing a Pokemon Roleplay over Aim with someone,  a trible gijinka -styled pokemon. My character is a older {around 55} male charizard. He's grumpy, foul, and generally just wants to be left alone. So I will ( Read more... )

forget your plot; i'm horny, buy a clue, gayfail, pokemon

Its a shame the player sucks 'cause I could see it as being hilarious otherwise. With the uke stereotype turned down a bit.

Same. I was hoping it would be fun and interesting. But it's basically just become her character flinging himself at mine, and mine throwing him away as fast as he can.

Why do you keep roleplaying this? It obviously isn't making either of you happy.

Because at the beginning it was fun. The characters were such opposites that it made the RP rather interesting. I'm hoping I can get through to ehr that I'm not interested in a romantic aspect for this RP, and that we can return to the previous enjoyment.

Notwithstanding the numerous ways in which the person described is being failsome:

It rather irks me whenever I see the women in a character's past being mentioned as evidence that they're not into guys. Mostly- or near-totally-gay guys could be in denial, or pursuing as many women as they can in a bid to "fix" themselves. Then there's the oft-forgotten option of bisexuality.

Valid points otherwise, of course. It's just that that specific one is not automatically a point against the possibility.

Ah, yea, I was just trying to find a way to make this person understand that Grumpums + Twinkles isn't happening. That was the only one that made them take a slight pause.

Oft-forgotten? Have you been around fandom lately?

It's not a fucking unreasonable assumption that someone who has dated a lot of women and only women is straight. You're not going to be right all of the time but the alternative - pretending that those relationships just didn't mean anything and were all disingenuous cover stories - is way worse.

Sorry, but when getting to the "equally old, gruff, grumpy man" part, my mind just went "Nidoking and Charizard sitting in a tree..." ^^

That's what I was thinking. See, I would have loved to play out a relationship like that. That would have been funny. This is just getting to be a bit excessive.
