Not seeing how this is a crime against humanity. I see a lot of people using canon characters for their PBs unless it's a canon from the series you're RPing.
I see where this chick is coming from too...I've played with a lot of people who use Vocaloid fanart for their PBs.

-sigh- All the more reason that I stick to describing my characters rather than looking for pictures.

I'm an artist, so I have the advantage of drawing my characters.
Still working on being a bit more realistic, like muscles and chubbiness, but hey. It's something.

Frankly I see little wrong at all with his choice of artwork. Yes, using a canon character's artwork might be something of a spoiler ... But quite frankly if you're going to RP in an environment you'd better damn well have done your research: This is going to mean spoilers if you've never played the game or watched the show/movie

To clarify something in the above post .... My Muse is annoying in the fact that once I hear a piece of music, if I see any sort of image, even a fragment, I am compelled to compete the image, as such some of my characters actually have entire playlists dedicated to them. The longest of these is well over two hours long and encompasses his entire history.

It's truly annoying when one is retired from chat based or general role play.

I've been retired from most role playing for almost two years now (sporadic role play for two years prior to that, so if you want to be technical, I've been out of practice for four years total) and have had several ideas spring up from the music I listen to.

It truly grates on my nerves - so many ideas and yet no where to play them. I refuse to do journal RP (I don't see the draw or the point in it), I normally don't do message board RP (I only play on one board at the moment), my old haunts back in Rhy'Din (AOL) are either dead or otherwise taken over by the very people that bloody well killed RP there .....

Yeah, it bloody sucks.

This is why I design all of my characters, and if I can't draw, I go to places that'll accept fake money for art, like Gaia or Solia. Mostly Gaia, because I have more gold there than anybody with a life should have.

I remember the last time I went and found a character on photobucket, another character had the same art. Luckily we were both chill with it, and hilarity ensued when characters found their apparent missing twin.

If either of us were more jerkish about it, bad things could've happened.

The best part was, my character was a masculine cross dressing girl, and his was a girly man. It was a bit of a mindfuck for them both.

I would like to say I'm handy with a pencil, but I would be a bald-faced liar if I said I wasn't willing to throw fake currency at people who could draw better than me.

As an interesting note, if he had looked about, he may have been able to find a few images of Hiei drawn like a mermaid, or whatever was needed, in doujinshi.
