You're the GM. ACT LIKE IT.

This is a complaint concerning another GM, not mine (both whom I usually enjoy playing under.)

I was waiting for my game to start (I had over an hour to kill before my game started, so I stuck around the student union instead of going back to my apartment.)

Anyway, there was another game being run, some of the players were junior high school age.  I ( Read more... )

Be sure to let her know that if you collapse into diabetic shock and almost die in the middle of your session, she knows who to blame (and thus pay for the hospital bill).

I don't worry so much about diabetic coma, which a person can survive hours or days. It's insulin shock that I worry about kills much quicker. I've already had three hypoglycemic episodes and they're fooking scary. Luckily for me, the hypoglycemic episodes were at the grocery store and there were a couple of firemen right behind me in line at the checkout.

That's why I carry both Atomic Fireball candy and honey on me everywhere I go.

Yep, and they (the kids and the GM) couldn't understand why I was beyond pissed. I was lucky that I just finished lunch (I grabbed a frozen dinner while I was out [salmon with whole wheat orzo, carrots and basil].)

I sure as hell don't want to cause any trouble for my gaming group, and (as you know) the kids nearly did cause several situations for me.

I was so mad that the local clowder stayed away from me they usually come to "play", "chat" or just let me know they're okay.

Pardon, couldn't help but read that as "Kick them in the head. Forever."

I would approve of this, if it wouldn't eat up into all of one's free time. ^^

I believe this is why they invented "tag team kicking". When one person needs to do something other than kicking a$$tards in the head, they just "tag" their partner (or a partner) who takes over for a period of time. It evolved into "tag team wrestling".

"that they're just kids and that one needs to let them "run around"."

Are they two years old? Seriously, if they can't sit with the adults, I'd consider that game to be played at the kiddie table and just walk away.

Honestly, take it to the site coordinator or supervisor. From games I have played at on campuses (which I am assuming is your game site from your post), site managers have no tolerance for people of any age who make asshats of themselves and endanger others. Talk to the GM, let him/her know that you're ready to take it to the next level if they can't keep their players under control.

Seriously, don't tolerate that kind of crap.

This, several dozen times over. This sort of behavior should never be tolerated.

Actually, I did talk to the GM. She was the one that kinda told me that I was blowing the situation out of proportion. I wanted to punch her through a plate glass window, then blame it on low blood sugar.

There weren't any "site staff", but I did take it to the next level (one of my GMs is the head of the official campus gaming club and the other is the sergeant-at-arms.) The club president was so mad she couldn't see straight, started composing a letter to the entire club basically saying that everybody who runs a game is responsible (along with the actual participant responsible) for any injuries or property damage by people in their game.

At seven to twelve year old: Those kids need to have a basic understanding that you do not fuck around with something someone's HEALTH is dependent on. That GM is on fucking crack. Good for your Club Prez.

A campus security officer had to get it back for me.

Who'll probably be more than happy to ban their asses and have a "little chat" with the GM if you file a complaint.

Junior high? What? If they were under eight, or something, or if the main problem had been them running around and being noisy or whatever, then maybe I could see that they're 'just kids.' But stealing someone's vital medical supplies? Maybe you can't expect too much maturity out of a twelve year-old, but the GM shouldn't have let them get away with that.

Neither should campus security, comes to that.
