You know, this could work (apart from missile throwing, obviously). If the idea was that the strain of his wife's death had caused Commander Dumbass to develop a particularly violent form of schizophrenia with accompanying auditory and visual hallucinations - thus his illogical actions, his paranoia and the visions of his wife's ghost - then this could work.

Of course, that would be assuming that the character is being played by somebody with more intelligence than a monkey's scrotum, which does not appear to be the case.

Were in any sort of GM-ish-type role in this, I'd rule that, yeah, he managed to grab the missile, rip it out of its housing somehow, at which point it rolled off and pinned him underneath. He'd be unable to move, and have crushed ribs and internal bleeding.
