Apparently this horse had never jumped until this girl got hold of her but all I can think is HOW she isn't refusing yet with the girl getting left behind and hitting her in the mouth after every ( Read more... )

Well, that was awkward.

-Get a vet/farrier
-Get an appropriate jumping saddle
-Get a saddle that actually fits the horse. It is way off balance and is sitting right on the horse's wither even with the bump pad underneath.
-Get an instructor

I'd even settle for getting a vet out and an instructor. That horse looks lame, and rider could use some really good lessons.

I'm guessing she's not that experienced? Looked a newer rider to me?

I agree that she's inexperienced. All the more reason to have an instructor.

Jeeze, you people are harsh. I know this girl, and imo you need to give her a break. Certainly not the worst riding i've seen.

So far everyone has been saying they don't think this is bad. So chill a bit.

Not what I'd count as bad riding, but...

Her equitation is definitely getting destroyed by the bad fit of the saddle. It throws her so far forward it's actually hurting my back just watching her! I had a friend once who had a wintec that fit her horse a lot like this girl's saddle does, and it threw her seat forward, and she ended up falling in front of her horse after it tripped and she got trampled.

NOT. SAFE.

Anyone else seeing a very footsore horse? Left hind especially? Whatever's going on, horse doesn't look too happy about it

Yep... Supposedly that's how the horse goes according to comments but "the farrier thought so too" so... >.>
