wow, I love you. You're just sayin' what everyone's thinkin'. Seriously though, some of these "training methods" have worried me, but I haven't said anything, because I'm generally not one to start a flame war. But yeah. wow. a post at a time is bad enough, but when you look at them all together...wow.
*I* am not a trained rider..i work on young horses getting used to beign groomed.. Sometiems they do freka out..that's when you've got to be calm...and soothing..and show them "I'm not a predator..nor is the brush..or the blanket" Not act liek you ARE a predator and keep at it until they get exhausted..I don't think it's fly spray on her face..i think it's sweat...from fear..and she just gave up..
It's not traiing..it's breaking a horses' spirit.
i'm not a great rider adn i say i Train horses..because i do work wiht them young..on teh ground..and make friends and earn trust..on the back of a horse i know how to stay on..point blank..nothing really above that..
But, the bits..the roughness..and teh topes..are all accidents waiting to ahppen.a.nd her horse isn't cut froma wooden fance..that's a horse CAUGHT in barbed wire. We ahd a case with the humane society here liek taht..the horse bled to death. It's not pretty and it scares me wiht teh amoutn of animals..that is there..and i wish she would stop..and fidn a better tutor.
I teared up. The boxer puppies and the poor paint foal got me. "Yea your pictures are awesome I love them post more!" NOT. Do us all a favor and dont ever post another picture. Someone should call animal cruelty
oh ya, and i literally felt choked up while looking at the pictures of that baby...i was so sad and frustrating to see that, and know that i can't do anything to help him!
i know...apparently at least 3 or 4 owners are using him to 'train' their horses...it's appalling how little so many people out there actually know. and as usual, it's the animal that suffers for the owner's ignorance.
i don;t think sequined_accent was being sarcastic. i think what she was trying to say is, your barn looks pretty nice and like a big operation, so that makes it even worse that your trainer has such shoddy methods.
