[Mal wakes up with a start, twitching in his seat as he's jolted out of slumber. [Simon comes in and stops at the other end of the table. Stony-faced, arms crossed, and just generally not looking like a happy camper. The clipped tone of his words doesn't add any pleasance to the scene.]

[Taking in Simon's angry stance, Mal inhales deep and rubs his eyes with one hand, mentally bracing himself for the impending argument. He knew it was coming, but he'd rather hoped it would've taken place a bit later - after the reavers inside his skull had stopped gnawing on his brain.]

That's debatable. [Exhaling, he drops his hand and regards Simon, leaning back on the chair a little. Better get this over and done with.]

[Mal clenches his jaw and tamps down on his irritation, crossing his arms over his chest. Though indignant by Simon's sarcasm, he knows snarking and yelling will do nobody any favours. Especially to his aching head.]

Can see how that'd be upsettin'. I don't know, though, if I'd call lettin' her have a few sips getting her drunk.
