The election trail: Part II

It had been my intention to regularly update my LJ with frequent updates . However, it has been a relatively boring campaign, so I don't feel like there has been much of substance to post about. [ Part I]

That said, here are my viewpoints on how I see the election shaping up:

Public concern about Dion's English somewhat surprises me, considering we elected Jean Chretien for so long. I wonder if what we need from a PM has changed since then?

I've thought about that myself. I heard an explanation on TV at one point, and the comparison was basically that Chrétien was a practical, mostly normal guy whom Canadians could relate to; Dion, on the other hand, is a professor - an intellectual who is too airy to connect with a lot of Canadians.

Besides, anyone who can beat up a protester on Flag Day gets bonus points in my books. :)
