Look -- I've come to the realization that no, I'm not the center of the universe and yes, workers are people too and yes, being a postal worker is a tough job. Besides all the 'going postal' jokes, the crusades through all weather that is freezing-ass cold or near hurricane, they have to drive that itty-bitty car/truck thing around and carefully go ( Read more... )

Years ago we were doing construction on our house, and around our new concrete stairs up to the front door there was a very shallow dirt ditch that, admittedly, had some nails lying in it. The mailman refused to step over it to deliver our mail because he claimed it was a danger to him. He wouldn't even walk across the completely solid part of our walkway to OUR OTHER DOOR and leave the mail there. It was so bizarre, because he'd delivered it during the rest of the construction.

So maybe it's something dumb like that.
