Hm, that's quite an old banner, isn't it. No matter, once Week 11 wraps up, I want to make new banners and change designs and stuff like that anyway. This particular update took a while 'cause I'm back to studying this year and it's taken me a week or two to get settled in and junk like that. Anyway, that's not hugely important.
So, the Hark family!
This is the third last family for Week 11's rotation, and there have been quite a lot of changes across Krow. The Hark house has had a few changes of its own, starting with an ACR-induced pregnancy that I really didn't plan for.
Liz, being a family sim, is as happy as a clam. I'm less impressed.
I have absolutely no idea why this bloke turned up with groceries. I didn't order groceries!
For a Criminal Mastermind, Andrzej can be really quite a nice guy sometimes. I would be a Mastermind if I was a sim
I have concluded that like Jessica, Marie is suspiciously pretty. Here are close-ups to demonstrate this.
See?
Moving on, Ben Mendoza came home with Anne that afternoon (and basically every afternoon from then on...).
... idek. Fortunately, Jessica had left the room by this point. The two of them are pretty good friends now, even though Andrzej is not her father.
Oh, and they got a TV. They're doing better financially and the kids needed something to raise their fun after school.
This was where Liz and Andrzej went and hung out at Omega Park to get some fresh air while the girls were all at school. The park is always so busy, I'm constantly surprised by the volume of sims there. It's becoming my favourite lot, although I'm starting to really wish that Krow was on a neighbourhood template that had the streets much closer together.
Back home, Luna Omega came home with Jessica.
Somewhere around here I realised that this means there are two 'Lunas' in Krow, but oh well. I know five Seans, two Toms, at least three Emilys... names double up. I'm not worried about it.
Twin girls! After an hour of reloading, turns out that brown eyes and brown skin is SUPER DUPER DOMINANT. Anyway, they're Adelaide and Catherine. I have no idea which is which.
Unfortunately, I was really hoping for something more than a genetic repeat of Anne, even though Liz and Andrzej are only first-gen sims and don't have much in the way of other genes to spread around. Consequently, I became pretty bored by the whole thing and ended up playing the remainder of the rotation in drips and drabs.
Fortunately, Liz has a pretty good handle on being a mother and a family sim, so my boredom didn't stop her from doing her thing.
Jessica went steady with Ray. He will probably go to college, same as her, I'm not quite sure yet. They're three-bolters, which is uncommon in Krow, so they're certainly attached at the hip for the rest of their lives, Romancers or not. :P I'd like him to move in, since I think Jessica is the sort of person to do that, and for some reason I picture Ray as not having a family... but I'm not sure. We'll see.
You know, I think Tristen's kids and Liz's kids are the same age. Adelaide, Catherine, Amy, David. I should do generation pictures some time.
Whilst that lot socialised, Jessica went on a date with Ray.
They ended up at the Music Box, as featured in the Supernaturals update. I do have a lot tour set to go, I'll put it up some time soon. (Had to lol though, they both rolled the want to make out with 3 sims at the same time.)
Yep. The only thing they lost was the TV, and that was reimbursed for 275. I bought them a new TV, same model as before.
Friday rolled around, bringing more daytime routine nonsense.
Jessica sneaky-birthday-ninja'd the twins. Catherine took on the token colour of light yellow, while Adelaide took blue.
I made a pre-emptive strike against the smallness of their house and Saturday's lessons took place on the lawn. They went pretty swimmingly, it's quite handy having a teen on the lot. Andrzej has an overnight shift, so he often has to spend the first half of the day sleeping.
Sunday, another date with Ray.
When she got home, it clicked that I could do ~renovations~, for which I was very excited.
Originally I had seriously considered flipping the orientation of the house so that the empty space to the right of the house could become a backyard. Instead, I kept it as it was and just tried to do something better with the layout, based partly on the December Lane houses I made (newcomers, feel free to check my tags for it).
So this is what we have. On the ground floor, the nursery was made into a living room so they could watch TV more comfortably. The bathroom was retiled to make it brighter and cleaner (the same as upstairs) while the master bedroom was converted to a properly sized nursery.
On the upper floor, the room that Jessica had was made into a room for the parents, Liz and Andrzej, with more mature decor to suit their more mature tastes. The other bedroom remains the property of Anne and Marie, though it was redesigned to suit teen girls instead of children. The staircase was also replaced, obvs., and I think it makes everything look a lot bigger and a lot better. Jessica no longer has a room because she will be at Uni in Week 12, no longer a part of this household.
Having a properly sized nursery is wonderful.
Dual birthdays for Anne and Marie!
Anne became a Pleasure Sim with a LTW of becoming Game Designer. She's got 10 points active and 10 points nice, though 3 points messy, so I think she takes after her father there. I went for more of an arty-crafty style with her, which happens to be her OTH (I totally did not know that at the time of picking her style, hah). She's a touch more skilled than Marie, but nothing to write home about just yet.
Marie became a Fortune Sim and wants to be The Law. She aged up with 3 cooking, 2 charisma/logic, 1 cleaning. Her OTH is science, which I think suits her fairly neat (but rather shy) personality. I think she's really pretty, and quite the nice blend of her parents. I decided that only sims who need a degree for their LTW, or sims whose personality suits university (in that I perceive them as the studious type) will actually attend university, so we'll see how these two go in terms of the whole higher education thing.
And that's it for them. Their funds were at $8,434 by the end of the week. Without a community lot (I should really get on that...), and with no bonuses from chance cards or the like, their tax is a flat 10%, which is $843. The playables increase by 2, but that's it.
