So the number one reason this update took five weeks is that I found the Crowley family really boring. I had trouble playing them for more than an hour at a time, so of course it took rather a long time to get through 7 game days. It was so boring, I barely took more than
40 .jpgs.
To recap, last week the Crowley family moved out of the Hark household and into their own. The Crowley Family consists of Andrew and his daughter, Aurora. He's a single parent and never found that much interest in living the married life. They're unofficially part of the Hark family anyways, so it's not like Aurora suffered from lack of a family environment.
Anyway, they moved into the house "Little Blue", which is available for download over a
krowchitecture.
I tried finding Andrew a job, but nothing pinged. His LTW is cult leader, but without a uni degree he can't really have that, so I'm aiming for something useful like business.
Anne came over after school. She and Aurora are pretty close to becoming BFFs, but then Aurora is very close to Jessica, Anne and Marie, so that's not a surprise.
They need income, so Andrew was temporarily dumped in Architecture.
Aurora was being entirely too grown up, what with cleaning and everything, so she was sent off to the park to find people her own age. Even THAT was dull. (I really need a teen-only lot.)
Liz and Andrzej turned up autonomously, so they were invited in for dinner.
On day 7, I went and re-did the exterior of the house, trading wood for brick. I wouldn't have minded keeping wood, but there was nothing I really liked. I'm okay with the brick look. It was all I could do, though - the interior was not really changed (Aurora got new wallpaper) because they needed the money for a community business.
So it's pretty handy that this fellow's digging efforts paid off with a treasure chest.
With that money (in addition to what had been accrued through the week with Andrew's promotions and digging), they had about 13,000. The lot they purchased was 11,600, and here it is:
It's an intro-to-arty-crafty-hobby-stuff store. It's pretty spartan at the moment because they couldn't afford much. More stuff will be added down the track.
Aurora was saleswoman, while Andrew took the register and their new employee became restocker.
They traded for about 12 hours and came out with only a $100 loss - I'm sure it'll get better as they earn more rewards and stuff.
Back home, the afternoon was spent digging and with those proceeds, I added a little chicken run. The family is SO BORING that I needed to make it a little more interesting. The chickens are really cute though. I hope it works out. The chickens all cluster inside the building though, idk why.
With one good look at the little hut thing (huts can totally be made with brick...) we leave the family there. It's their first week alone, so no tax on the house, but the business does count towards their stats.
