Question? My husband and I were looking into getting an ergo. I am a plus sized mom (size 20/22) would an ergo be an okay fit? Or would you guys recommended something different?
I'm that size and the Ergo wasn't comfortable for me. It was at the furthest extension to fit, and it only adjusted on one side of the clip, so it didn't feel good.
I had a Beco, which I liked, but I sold it to buy one of these, b/c I tried it on and it was WAAAAAAY more comfy than the Ergo or the Beco.
Dude, you will love it if you try it on. I was amazed. I figured it would just be another SSC, and it was like a religious experience. I feel like a total dork, but I've been evangelizing it to everyone I know since I tried it on ;)
I'm not that large, but I taught babywearing classes for a while. Plus-sized moms that came to us tended to like the Beco, but not the Ergo. The Ergo is sold with an additional waist extension, but there seem to be other fit problems beyond just the waist strap.
I'd suggest a Beco. They're especially good if your partner is not a similar size to you, as they adjust to a wide range of sizes without needing extra parts.
