You guys! I'm home watching Clean House: Messiest Home in the Country right now, and this woman just threw a SHIT FIT about not getting rid of her BSC books. Niecy was all, "THIS IS WHY YOUR HOME LOOKS LIKE HELL! Cause you have this useless shit! You're too old for this!" and I was like, "Oh no she DI-INT!" (And then my head exploded from the ( Read more... )

The few that I was lucky to find a second hand store are sitting on shelf next to some of my Sims 2 games and some of my romance novels. I would have had more from my childhood, but I loaned out and I never saw them again :hmph

In fact the bookcase looks quite like yours, except it's only three shelves high!

I think she ended up keeping them - she was, like, sobbing and then they left it and didn't really come back. It looked like she had a bunch, Little Sisters especially, but it was hard to tell because they were kind of thrown everywhere. Seriously, just put them away if they're so important!

See, that was exactly what bugged me about the episode! Instead of saying "Your house is a mess because you don't take care of your stuff," Niecy was just deriding her for having stuff in the first place. I was like, "Hey, I own a bunch of children's books and board games and old electronics too and my house is fucking immaculate, THANKYOUVERYMUCH. The stuff is not the problem."

Mine are proudly on display in my bedroom at my parents' house in Australia (I'm currently living in the UK). If anyone told me to get rid of them, I would politely tell them to fuck off. Those 213 books are my pride and joy!

That's my attitude towards my toys. People can seem to understand the expensive collector dolls, but you have something like Fashion Star Filly horses or Beanie Babies and everyone's all "why?" BLEH. My worst nightmare is to have that show come into my house to make me get rid of things, but thankfully I keep it clean and organized enough that it probably won't happen. Minimize? BULLSHIT.

Mine used to live like this (stacked two deep), but I'm about to move, so now they've been relegated to the boxes-in-attic method. I had to make some choices, and The Saddle Club won.

I love the way each of the different series is distinctive color-wise.

Mine are currently in boxes at my parents' place. When I lived at home, they were all on one 8-ft long shelf in the wall (along with a good majority of all my other books that didn't fit on my bookshelf). The BSC Little Sister books were actually on another bookshelf.

Do I spy some VC Andrews on that shelf too?

Because please god, let me not be the only one who read that shit along side my YA stuff!

You sure do! I love VC Andrews, although after the Dollenganger and Cutler series', they're all the same.

You know I complained about the sameness, until they stopped doing that. The only "change" that I actually liked were the miniseries with the large novel for book 5. The first series I read was the Logan series ((Melody)), but the local library had the rest and I spent a whole summer rotting my brain with them. It was glorious.
