Oh, wow - this is amazing! The last line has a real haunting quality to it...it's definitely a scary thought, thinking that all it takes is a few seconds for your life to change completely.

Great work! Its nice to see some fic focusing on Jessi, who was such an underutilized character in the canon :)

This is great! I really enjoy reading Jessi-pov, she gets so little love.

Also, loved the canon shoutout with I guess I’m getting ahead of myself. ;)

I just couldn't help it. Jessi said that in almost every single one of her books. At least it felt like that.

Oh, is it a Jessi-specific phrase? I do remember reading it a lot, usually preceding a "let me tell you about all the people in this opening scene and allude to the Baby-Sitters Club, more about that later!!!"

I love that you used it for something that's rather serious, it felt like quite a shift from how the books use it! (in a good way)

I don't know if its Jessi-specific. I just remember her saying it far more than the others. Kristy on occasion will say it, but mostly the girls are just saying that they'll tell us about the club later.

To which I always reply: You don't have to. If you choose to, I'm not listening.

I'm lame. I know.

Wow. What a great short! I always wondered if something like that would happen to Jessi. In Ann's perfect BSC land, I doubt Jessi's budding career would have been derailed like this. After all, Jessi isn't Mallory. :P I'm glad that you wrote this. I love realisim in fics. Awesome job!

I have to say, first, that I really like this story.

It reminds me of someone I know who was a dancer and had a similar (but less serious) injury that derailed her career. I guess for personal reasons the story is more bittersweet for me because I know the unexpected new paths it lead my friend on, so I can see those paths opening for Jessi even though she doesn't know it yet.

I would also like to add that I like all of your stories, especially the one for Mary Anne. Thought I'd throw that in here in case you don't go back and check old comments. I'm looking forward to more!
