Standing near the library in the barracks, Nill held a long stick in her hand and used it to make a hopscotch board. It was a game she had learned about back home, one Bishop had shown her one day after service. She still had no idea how to play it properly, and simply hopped from square to square, and instead of numbers written inside each one, ( Read more... )

Jessica had been wandering through the woods again when she smelled the faint aroma of blood coming from near the stream. It smelled..different from human blood, and not different in the hybrid sort of way like Alec's but just...different. She couldn't place it. It made her curious though, to say the least.

So she followed the scent, leading her to where Anna was standing, washing her stained shirt. Jessica stayed within the trees for a moment, watching the woman carefully for a moment or two. Finally, she stepped out into the open, tilting her head curiously.

"So what're you exactly?"

Anna paused, and slowly turned to face the girl, regarding her carefully. She could instantly tell that she wasn't human, and the fact that she wasn't registering as a demon didn't bother her. It was just something to be cautious about, especially in a place like this.

"What do you think I am?" She eventually responded, a hint of amusement in her tone. She was a pretty little thing, and her accent was interesting enough, but she was starting to think that she wasn't capable of having a normal encounter with someone while staying in the wood.

"And what are you exactly? I can tell you that neither of us are human."

"I don't rightly know," She replied with a shrug of her shoulder, taking a step closer now to inspect the older woman. "You don't smell like a regular human or nothin', but you don't smell like whatever Alec is either. Or Sookie, her blood smells different, but not like yours. I ain't ever smelled somethin' like yours before."

She paused for a moment at the question. Well, if all the talk about what blood smelled like didn't give it away, she might as well take a risk and admit what she was. "I'm a vampire."

Anna simply nodded in understanding, entirely casual about the fact that this girl was different. She sounded entirely harmless, and a vampire wasn't anything that an angel couldn't handle if they got a little out of hand. But the girl's curious nature made Anna assume she was only out to explore, and she could respect someone who liked to do that.

"I'm an angel." She replied, very matter of factly, with a light shrug of her shoulders. If the girl wanted to believe her, she could, and if not then it was easy to pass identifying yourself as an angel as just as symptom of being crazy. No harm there.

"And now that I know what you are, you should tell me who you are." She paused, head tipping off to the side slightly. "Please."

"You're going to put a hole in it if you keep scrubbing like that."

Murphy stoops by the stream, close to where it comes out of the rocks, to take a drink. She's glad the current is quick. Between people cleaning their kills here to scrubbing their clothes in the water, it was going to start turning into a health hazard soon.

...She should bring that up on the communicators.

"I could fix it if I wanted to, I just am trying to not do everything the easy way." The redhead calmly explained as a stranger approached her, but didn't bother to elaborate on why it was important for her to not do things the easy way. Anna hadn't been expecting anyone to show up, so the fact that someone did put her on edge, and bothered her. Frowning in annoyance at her own actions, she turned to look at the woman who had spoken.

"You probably shouldn't drink the water, I don't think." Given that she was standing in it, and who knows who else used it on a regular basis, she didn't think it was suitable for human consumption.

"Take some back to your cabin and boil it, at least." She offered some helpful advice of her own.

"Fix it how?" Murphy shakes droplets from her fingertips before wiping her hands on her own slightly worn, slightly in-need-of-washing shirt. "Magic?"

She wouldn't be surprised, given how many people here seem to at least be familiar with the idea of it. It would be nice if the people who knew practical spells, ones that did more than blow things up, got together to help out. Murphy makes a thoughtful noise. She seriously needs to bring this stuff up. She's been so distracted taking care of Harry and... well, everything else, she hasn't had the time or focus to try and get people organized.

"I plan to. Karrin Murphy. What's your name?"

"Something like that." She eventually decided that playing vague was the way to go, and offered the blonde a slight smile. Magic was something she didn't really prefer or believe in, just because she preferred the known over the unknown. Her powers were a known, most of the time, but in this place they couldn't be counted on to be a constant.

"I'm Anna." She didn't bother giving a last name, because she didn't entirely identify with it any longer. It wasn't hers anymore.

Gabriel hadn't left the barracks since the Kitsune fiasco. To say he was starting to get cabin fever would be like saying that Michael Jackson was looking a little pale before he died.

He sure as hell didn't think it would get so bad that he'd start hallucinating purple-haired kids on the rooftops with giant weapons.

After confirming that... Yep, that was really a kid in a wig with A GIANT FUCKING WEAPON up there, he sighed and shook his head before putting on his snark face and jerking his thumb to the other side of the barracks. "Auditions for the camp production of Sailor Moon: The Musical are that way, kid."

What in the fuck was this guy on? Snorting, Hit Girl rolled her eyes and lifted her hand up to give him the polite gesture of her middle finger. "Yeah, go fuck yourself, smartass." She paused for a moment, then a smirk graced her features, and she pointed at him with one end of her weapon.

"And the fact that you even know that girl's show makes me wonder who has your balls, because no man that actually has any would admit to knowing it."

Gabriel's eyebrow vanished somewhere around the area of his hairline. Wow. Just... Wow. He wasn't sure whether he was impressed or felt compelled to get the kid an adult and some Ridilin.

"It's a show with women running around in short skirts and doing stripteases for great justice... What man wouldn't admit to knowing that?" Aside from the ones who didn't want to admit that they led sad, lonely lives, but whatever. Gabriel's all for ruining the innocence of children's entertainment to prove a point.

"It's a fucking cartoon, jackass. Only creepy pedos shit around and watch that shit, because all the girls in it are like...teenagers or something." Clearly creeped out by the guy, the corner of her lip turned upward in a snarl, and she shook her head. Men. Always total idiots.

"What are you out doing, anyway?" Maybe he was trying to hurt someone or steal something, and she'd have an excuse to kick his ass.

Dark is liking the nighttime recently. Well, he always likes the nighttime, but now a full moon is coming, and it feels just the same as the full moon does back home. It's a swell of energy, inside and out, and it sets his heart pounding.

He catches Mindy's scent from across the barracks and decides to go see if she wants to go run around or something. Whatever it is human pups do. He tracks her scent to her cabin and then looks around for, eventually spotting the costumed girl on the roof. He tilts his head and takes a good sniff to make sure that it really is Mindy. Wow.

"Look different."

Hit Girl could only inwardly wince, and curse at the fact that Dark had decided to show up for a visit. "I don't know what you're talking about." She retorted, in a voice that obviously belonged to Mindy Macready. One thing her dad hadn't taught her was to disguise her voice in costume, and she suddenly realized how fucking stupid that was of him.

Cursing under her breath, she hopped down off the roof, Mindy Stick still in hand. She pointed a bladed end in Dark's general direction, hoping she didn't come across as entirely intimidating. Maybe just a little intimidating, since he was one of her friends now.

"You don't tell anybody you know it's me, got it?"

Dark sighs quietly, thinking that Mindy must mean that she didn't understand him. Words are so difficult sometimes. If only humans were smart enough to use animal speech, then he wouldn't have this problem all the time.

"Are look different," he says, waving one hand vaguely to try and emphasize. "Having new..." He waves his hands again to try to encompass all of her. "Look."

Stupid words.

Then she's jumping down and pointing a blade at him. Dark automatically backs away three paces and drops into a crouch, head lowered and eyes locked on Mindy's face. He's not sure what he did wrong, but if Mindy's going to fight him Dark will fight back, even if she's a pup. He's tired of people being nice to him one minute just to hurt him the next. He's not sure if that's what Mindy's up to--humans are inexplicable, and so are all pups everywhere--but he's ready for anything.

"It sorry," he says and instantly corrects with, "Dark sorry." He backs away another step. "Not wanting fight, okay? Okay?"

"What?" She blinked, and then looked over at the weapon in her hand. "I don't want to fight you, Dark. Stand up, okay?" The fact that he's crouching has her a little freaked out and worried about him, and she moves to put the weapon on the ground, slowly.

"You didn't do anything wrong, I just was trying to hide who I am. No one can know I'm Mindy when I'm dressed like this. Understand?"

It didn't feel right to have her weapon just discarded on the ground, and she had to use all of her willpower to resist using the toe of her boot to scoot it in closer to her.

Okay, as much as Bruce thought this was a bad idea, and as much as he really, really, really didn't want to do this? The fact is it's been getting pretty colder around the woods, even with the wonky weather switching up now and again. Another fact is he still hasn't been able to find any kind of spare clothes and he's kind of getting pretty freaking cold.

So he's currently slinking along the wall behind the cabins while at the same time trying not to look suspicious (the result is something even sketchier than he'd be able to manage if he were actively trying). After all, that one doctor-looking woman had said there were empty cabins... Maybe he could just. Hide out in one of them during the night, and then leave before everyone went and woke up and started asking questions.

Right. This is a plan.

It wasn't really that great of a plan, because on one of Hit Girl's scans of the area, she caught sight of the guy and instantly assumed he was up to no good. Not bothering to shout out at him, she bounded across the roof of her cabin and jump flipped off, landing softly on her feet. As she hustled from point A to B, she let loose the latch on her Mindy Stick, causing the ends to separate. A wire was exposed in between the two ends, and she grinned as she hurried to reach the creeper before he could get too far away.

"Hold it right there, cunt." She warned him as she approached him from behind, standing tall and looking as authoritative and dangerous as possible.

See, it was never a good idea to try and sneak up on someone as ridiculously paranoid as Bruce was. Because the minute he heard someone else talking, he jumped about a straight foot in the air and spun around. Luckily any kind of accelerated heart rate from the surge of adrenaline just then was entirely counteracted by the mouth on this little girl, which was more than enough to just... Make his various autonomous systems shut down for a minute.

He gaped at the tiny, purple, leather-wearing girl currently brandishing some very unpleasant looking things at him in shock. When his brain started working again, he stuttered, "...Wh- Are y- You're talking to me?"

"Of course I'm fucking talking to you, who else is around?" She gestured out with both hands, and did it fast enough so that the wire between each end of her weapon snapped, making a pleasing ting noise. "Stop being a pussy and tell me what you're doing sneaking around."

The end of her Mindy Stick in her right hand was twirled around casually, as the one in the left was pointed at him. Despite the mouth and her posture, she sounded and was acting very much like a little kid playing with a new toy. It just so happened that this guy was the new toy and not the weapon in her hands, but he was more than welcome to think the double bladed weapon was her plaything.

"And if I like your answer, I won't kick your ass."
