Standing near the library in the barracks, Nill held a long stick in her hand and used it to make a hopscotch board. It was a game she had learned about back home, one Bishop had shown her one day after service. She still had no idea how to play it properly, and simply hopped from square to square, and instead of numbers written inside each one, there were various letters and shapes. Letters because she needed practice and shapes because she thought they looked nice. She was well aware that she was too old now to be playing games all day, but until she found a job she could do during the daytime at the barracks, she didn't want to just sit and bother Neal and Peter while they did important things. So instead of feeling useless, she cleaned up what little she could around camp and spent the rest of her day playing games that she could come up with given the limited supplies that were just laying around.
Perched on top of the roof of her cabin at sunset, Hit Girl was making her first appearance in the city. Decked out in leather and her purple wig, it had taken a long time of being in the wood to convince herself that showing her superhero costume to the others was a good idea. But in the end, she knew that it was better to slowly introduce the idiots to her alter ego, instead of just randomly running into a situation and having them confuse her with one of the retarded fairies that were making them all miserable. Her Mindy Stick was held in hand, both bladed ends had been put together to form a staff that she was glad to have out again. It had been taken apart and shoved in her suitcase, which had been shoved under her bed for safe keeping. It felt right to have it out again, ready to strike at something. She just had no idea what was lurking around she could play with.
Standing in the stream that was closest to the barracks, Anna was trying to remove a blood stain that had found its way onto her shirt. A white button down wasn't easy to keep clean in a place like this, and with her interest in exploring and testing her limits, it was all too simple to get attacked or cut herself on tree limbs. This particular blood stain was caused by an encounter with a brier patch, one that had ended with her teleporting out of it, only to land atop a tree. So she wasn't really having the best day, and the fact that she was currently standing half-dressed in the middle of trickling water, trying to uselessly scrub her shirt clean wasn't making things any better. She needed something new to focus on here, being trapped for so long was making her restless and do things that she normally wouldn't. It was starting to become frustrating, and realizing that only made her scrub harder.
