[ooc: A week into the stay at the barracks... I'm slowly trying to get her up to current timeline with threads owed.]At least Sam hadn't completely written her off, there was the occasional text message through that weird device that wasn't quite a phone and a few conversations that were possibly more cryptic than they needed to be, but she wasn't ( Read more... )

Shrugging her shoulder up at him, she turned to look at him again. He was tall, that was always a positive point in her eyes, but he was also annoyed which, in general, was never a good thing.

"Yeah, I'll remember that, but I'm not sure if you noticed, with all the like a good neighbor routine you had going on, but I don't ever use my own front door. I don't think it's anyone's business who I'm going to see, when I'm leaving or coming back. If anything, people around here are a bit too open with their lives and personal history. It's sort of disgusting how they all just want to share their stories." Her tone edged in on mocking toward the end there, but really, when people just get taken from their lives and shoved into a new environment, the first thing to do is not spill your guts to the stranger next to you.

It could be their fault you're there in the first place.

Lifting an eyebrow, she glanced back to the guy, unsure of anything really - other than the fact that he'd been watching her. "Because, you seemed just as curious as I was. Plus, it's boring being alone in a cabin for eleven hours a day. Then you venture out into that forest and it's like time just gets sucked away. You barely notice that you've been out there for hours and then the sun is coming up."

Her head tilted to the side, "I figured, I could at least see you in person instead of through the shadows."

As she leaned against the table nearest to her, she glanced to him, "If you're all up for being solo still, I can leave. I just figured if you were curious enough to stare - I could be polite enough to say hello."
