[for Sylar] howdy neighbor... stop staring in my windows

[ooc: A week into the stay at the barracks... I'm slowly trying to get her up to current timeline with threads owed.]

At least Sam hadn't completely written her off, there was the occasional text message through that weird device that wasn't quite a phone and a few conversations that were possibly more cryptic than they needed to be, but she wasn't going to argue. It was something, if anything it was pretty much back to how they were before the big event that had led up to them all being shoved into this place. She could at least deal with that. The only thing was there wasn't anything else for her to do here. Admitting that it was a relief to be out from under the thumb of Lilith was an understatement, but the fact that no one seemed to know that was her deal, well, she was good with that. The secret could stay buried deep for all she cared. Even if Lilith showed up, the risk was too great for her to even try and pull rank over her. For all intent and purposes, she was pretty much a free agent.

Of course, it'd be stupid to just play nice and not get the angles. She needed Sam on her side, she needed to make sure that no one would get knife happy or try to pull her from her body. Those were not things she wanted to even consider as options. This forest, whatever it was, seemed tapped into something pretty big and having her out of a body and possibly a plume of darkness that couldn't settle, that scared her.

For the most part, she'd been going on walks late at night. She stayed in the cabin through the day, making sure that she kept the door and windows locked, then ventured out when she figured it was safe to do so. At least she was able to teleport again - not as far as she wanted, but outside the barrier seemed to be fine enough. After the first few trips, she just got bored.

Now she was settled in staring at the one window she left the curtains open for. It was in the kitchen, small above the crappy sink that made horrible noises when she turned on the water. Not that she needed water.

What she needed was to not be so bored. There was pretty much nothing to do, other than be social, which she really assumed she shouldn't do... at all. The risk was too high of being spotted and stabbed. Until things were okay, she'd just... be cabin fever girl.

Cabin fever girl that had a very curious neighbor that thought she couldn't see him in the dark cabin across from her. She had very good eyesight though. Plus, she could... just 'drop' in on him, since he seemed so damn curious about her. She'd managed to at least figure out that he was alone in there, no weird roommate situation and it hadn't been the first time that he'd been checking in on her.

Narrowing her eyes, she risked the danger and just glanced to him, lifting an eyebrow before she vanished from his line of sight and appeared, right in front of him.

"So, I figured the view from here must be shit," she scoffed lightly as she moved to the window, "Yeah, that blows."

Turning around, she tilted her head, "I'm Ruby. Your neighbor."
