[Danny was actually in a tree a few hundred yards from the barracks. Just far enough to argue that he didn't know it was there. He'd ditched the small group he'd been helping out the moment they'd found it, and decided to hold off on arriving as a human for a while. There's the sound of a female voice off camera, and then a flash of blonde hair, and then two fingers move in frame and gently push the lizard over. A second later, a bright blue eye has taken up half the view, and after a few hops back, you can see half of Rapunzel. She smiles, and nervously waves.]

The thing about that is Pascal wants to see.

[She points at Pascal to show who she's talking about, and the lizard points at himself, and squeaks in affirmation.]

[That's new. Peter stares. And stares. Because it's weird enough having a girl talking about a lizard like it's intelligent enough to be talked about. It's weirder still to see said lizard acting intelligently. But the weirdest thing? Is seeing a lizard smiling. Just. Seriously.]
