[Peter sounds bone-freaking-tired, and if you detect a hint of self-loathing in his voice? Well, you win the Kewpie doll and the lifetime supply of turtle wax.]

Dr. Meredith Grey is dead. [A beat to let that sink in.] So unless somebody else is medically trained and hasn't said anything, that leaves the barracks with just the one doctor. If I'm ( Read more... )

I can do basic first aid. Remove bullets, cauterize wounds, bandage things up. That sort of thing.

Ah. Okay then, noted. Good to know.

[Can there be more awkward here? After getting his ass kicked and his bro avoiding him? Doubtful.

...There's a really, really really long pause as Peter debates asking if she's seen Neal. :c]

[Here, she'll answer that unspoken question for him.]

So...have you seen Neal since...everything?

[Thaaaaank goodness for the lack of video right now. Because that means Jo can't see how puppy-ish Peter is at the answer to that question.]

...He's been keeping himself busy.

[That's a no.]

So I take it you have some idea what's going on here.

[...Why always the kids. He scrubs his eyes as something big in the background shifts and that rumbling happens again.]

New arrival? Okay. Name's Peter Burke, FBI.

The Cliffnotes version is you're now stuck in a magical forest with sadistic fairies and monsters. We're not sure how we got here, or how to get back home. If you can do anything above and beyond the usual definition of weird, you're apparently in good company. [What bitterness? There's no bitter here. Pfft, what are you on. >.>]

Did you find a way to the fort, or are you still in the forest?

[Danny was actually in a tree a few hundred yards from the barracks. Just far enough to argue that he didn't know it was there. He'd ditched the small group he'd been helping out the moment they'd found it, and decided to hold off on arriving as a human for a while. Just long enough to avoid any suspicion of a connection with the ghost.

Besides, hanging out in a tree to avoid the local monsters afer being kidnapped and stranded in a forest was like a tradition.]

...Well that's just great. Seriously, worst summer vacation ever.

I'm Danny Fenton. I suppose you'd call me a new arrival. Though I'm guessing its bad news if you've been here long enough to think of people like that.

And no? Nothing weird about me. Unless you're talking about the time I got banned for life from handling any fragile objects at school.

There's a fort? Weird. I kind of got lost when all those weird monsters came after us. Very, very lost.

Going on six months now. So yeah, bad news was about five and a half months ago.

[Peter's innate bullshit detector is going off so hard right now, Danny. Seriously, it says Living Lie Detector on his business card. Or it should. Point is - you has all the skepticism rn.] ...Yeah huh. Pretty sure butterfingers still qualifies under normal. But whatever.

If you're that lost, I can head out and bring you in. [Toggles the device to the map function.] Wouldn't take that long - you're not near as lost as you'd think.

You have a giant tiger made of metal.

[Alec swears he listened to the whole thing. He just has priorities]

[Peter haaaaates your priorities right now, Alec. Just. Ffffff forever.]

...Not exactly my main point here, but. For the time being, yeah.

I have basic field medic training. And I'll be at the meeting.

[Yep, that's Peter Burke in a nutshell: Fun Nazi.]

Look forward to seeing you there. ...How've you been? Haven't heard that much from you since you decided on the medieval route.

Oh! I...well, I don't mean to be a bother, but did you say that you have a giant tiger made of metal?

[...Peter feels that most people have missed the main point of this post. Sigh.]

Yeah.

[She switches over to video, and all that can be seen is a lizard face. The lizard is actually smiling at you Peter, believe it or not. There's the sound of a female voice off camera, and then a flash of blonde hair, and then two fingers move in frame and gently push the lizard over. A second later, a bright blue eye has taken up half the view, and after a few hops back, you can see half of Rapunzel. She smiles, and nervously waves.]

The thing about that is Pascal wants to see.

[She points at Pascal to show who she's talking about, and the lizard points at himself, and squeaks in affirmation.]

[That's new. Peter stares. And stares. Because it's weird enough having a girl talking about a lizard like it's intelligent enough to be talked about. It's weirder still to see said lizard acting intelligently. But the weirdest thing? Is seeing a lizard smiling. Just. Seriously.]

...Ooookay then.

[He then turns the comm around and switches on the feed. The tiger in question is a bit busy snuffing and huffing in Peter's hair at the moment, much to his disgruntlement.]

Hey. [Swat swat swat. :III] The camera, dummy. Look at the camera.

Right now my plan is to figure out what we know. Once we're all on the same page, then we can suss out a plan of action.
