Possible Mandatory Hiatus

My laptop crashed and has refused to boot up since yesterday.  I've tried everything, but it starts and crashes before start-up can be completed.  I suspect either the Operating System or the hard drive is buggered

I really feel for you! I am so sorry! Laptop crashing is the worst of disasters when it comes to eletrical devices! I just hope they will fix it soon!
