the day ends as another one starts

One of these days I'll get into bed before midnight.  Supper was made, laundry was done, Littles were bathed and diaper laundry in progress, so I'll have a basket full of clean fluffy diapers to fold in the morning :-)

I got very little studying done today and only managed to get through half of my Breastfeeding syllabus for review.  I've been ( Read more... )

Great idea to give out juice and crackers along with the chocolate! Note to self for next year... This year Kyle already went out and bought a Costco box of chocolate bars-- a week and a half before Halloween. I made him hide the box from ourselves... grrr...

I hear ya. I try to buy stuff I don't like so I don't feel tempted to eat it - like licorice or gummy candies. On the Natural Family community here on LJ I made a post asking for idea for healthy and/or e-friendly halloween treats and I got a lot of good ideas.

Playdough was often suggested and I know that Costco sells big bags of tiny containers of them. Kraft handi-snacks (like cheese and crackers), raisins, granola bars, juice boxes, fruit cups, and non-food items like pencils or stickers.

When I was a teenager, a few friends and I had a tradition of trick-or-treating from the moment school let out until about 10-11pm. I was always grateful, at the end of our journey, to find a healthy, nutritious snack some thoughtful mom gave out to satisfy the hunger from walking in the cold all night until I was able to go home and eat dinner.

Photos of the family festivities, please!

"Desperate Midwives" sounds intriguing--I can't seem to find it on our TV schedule here.

The show follows a staff of British Midwives who do home and hospital births.

Maybe it's available to watch online?

Oh I wish I could make treat bags, but we get 400 kids!!! At a mini bar each, it still costs about $50. Oh well, once a year....

I made up 30 treat bags and I'll be surprised if I get rid of all of them. If I get more than 30 kids, then I have some mini bars leftover that I can hand out. In a pinch, I'll take some candy from Julia and Charlotte ;-)
