* I spent two and a half hours cleaning Julia's room with her.  We have bags and boxes of stuff to pack away for Charlotte, toss in the garbage, and/or donate to charity.  Hopefully keeping her room reasonably clean won't be so difficult now ( Read more... )

I like making oatmeal in the microwave with almond milk and frozen blueberries. Very yummy, even if it does turn bluish gray.

When you give her the frozen peas, do you mash them up on your finger or just let her have at'em? I'm new to this food thing for this age, so any advice would be good! He eats pretty much all the baby foods, and some of our food that is soft and mushy. I'm thinking of making my own baby food, to save money and be healthier. You know what happens with plans, though. I'll see how it goes. I need to get back into the swing, after being sick last week and in hospital overnight on Friday, I just feel discombobulated!

I defrost them and sometimes I'll squish them a little and then just give them to her. The carrots are harder and I was cutting them in half but now she just shoves them in her mouth! Her poo yesterday had bits of peas and carrots in it, but it didn't seem to bother her.

With some exceptions, I've just been giving Charlotte what we eat. If I make beef stew, I make a bit extra and throw some in the blender. Same for veggies - whatever I'm making for our own supper, I double it and chop, mash, or puree the rest for Charlotte. I freeze them in ice cube trays and then throw them in a labelled ziploc bag in the freezer. Easy. Puffed rice is good, chopped up pasta, mashed or cubed fruits and veggies, I even gave Charlotte tiny, tiny pieces of cheese quesadillas yesterday, because that's what the girls and I were eating for lunch and Charlotte wanted some! Check out that wholesomebabyfood website and they'll have ideas for chunky/finger food too.
