one birthday behind me, one ahead

Abby's week is over - her birth on the 9th, death on the 10th, coming home on the 13th, funeral on the 15th.  I still remember how my future felt like an enormous black hole after everything was over.  But, I didn't fall into the black hole.  I finished my midwifery education, (mostly) successfully continued being a wife and mother, and gave birth
