CA Budget/Ted Strickland

I read in the LA Times this morning that the leaders of the California legislature got zero Republican in the Senate to vote for the compromise budget that the legislative leaders hammered out with the Governor. I'm with you completely, and feel the same way about the taxes/services. I'm calling him today ... this is horse shit.

i've been following this on and off for a while on la times. seems totally fudged up, was slightly worried about the UCSB staff... hope nobody in your crew got the can.

looks like maldonado gave in?
I saw Arnie quoted as congratulating the republicans for supporting it, as it could potentially endanger or 'end their careers'. I don't understand how promising to never raise taxes then changing your mind is career ending - I thought that was a prerequisite skill for being a polly.
