And once again I am torn between the need to jump up and down with delight and excitement immediately and the nagging sense that really, I ought to wait until I have something more comprehensive and less disjointed that I can articulate. But that, I suppose, is what followup comments are for. And since this discussion is going to wind up scattered in comment threads in at least three posts anyway, I tell myself that it's not too unreasonable to be self-indulgent and do the jumping up and down right away.

Only it really is incoherent jumping up and down at this stage, a big tangled mass of Wow, this is so much better than my version, for values of 'better' that include 'not static and heading somewhere meaningful and terrifying' and Oh, very cool use of the narrative equivalent of negative space, because this would be gorgeous by itself, but it takes on a particular and distinctive shape if you know where Hisoka probably is and What was that claim about not being able to write reactions to the 'new' Hisoka?. I hope and expect that ( ... )

Ah, now that is excellent. I love the little bits of references to other things- the case, where Hisoka is, Tatsumi in relation to them both- hidden in the relatively calm and empty moment of the story. And that last line! Oh, so very good.

Thanks! It was a little strange writing this because it's almost, well, fluffy, and Phoebe's universe is a sort of fluffy, but yet if you put them together and it ends up vaguely ominous. Go figure.
