-Nonononono, honey, I think you've missed the point of that scene with John and Irene. Because he says, "We're not a couple," he says, "I'm not gay." And then she says, "Well, I am. But here we are.." [paraphrasing] It's about the fluidity and changeability of sexual identity and the inadequacy of labels, because John is "straight" and Irene is "gay" and they both love Sherlock anyway. That scene made me so so fucking happy, because a) I can totally relate, and b) I do read John as straight, but this is like having our cake and eating it too, because I suppose you ( ... )

- Andrew Scott is pretty much a genius, yes. Augh, Moriarty! *creeped out all over again* Not many people could pull off shouting down a phone one second and 'I will skin you' in a completely calm tone of voice the next without it being silly. And he does. And I could fangirl about this all day.
- 'The Speckled Blond' was great - but I'm also kind of sad that we won't get a full episode based on 'The Speckled Band' (which is one of my favourites by dint of being the first Holmes story I read). But the title makes up for it. (As does John's blog post about the case.) I AM ALL OVER THE WELL-CRAFTED HOMAGES. <3 <3 <3 ( ... )
