Homage Writing

So, this Creative Writing course. It's generally going really well! Except, there's this module. And to be honest I knew it'd be a sticking point from the start. See, it involves writing homages. (Or parodies. Or at least pieces that mimic other writers' styles.) This would be absolutely fine and dandy, if we got to choose from all the writers out

I approve of this technique. Also highly approve of your cast list! I think it's a good idea to have a specific character in mind when you start, since that's what you're really good at, and who is going to know? Only you and those you choose to tell. Whoever reads it will have a hard time guessing those characters anyway because they are (pretty much) all from different places :)

I figured it wouldn't really do any harm, because no one is going to know. (Unless they literally stalk me and find this LJ. Which is massively unlikely because I tell no one about it. :P)

I'm glad you approve. :) It's definitely been the most difficult thing we've been asked to do. But oh well, I got it done.

No, hopefully not. (Well, the parents didn't notice, and they're aware of all the characters I stole. I didn't even bother to change Dr Rush's name to something other than Nicholas, and made the 'mistake' of changing Amy's name to Amanda, which is the name of another character in Stargate: Universe -- and they didn't pick up on it. XD So, I guess whatever I did it worked.)
