Doctor Who on Sale & Life Update

HMV is currently having a sale. They have Doctor Who box sets (which normally sell at £70) marked down to £25. Better than half price! So, of course, I couldn't restrain myself. I want the box sets (and have always wanted the box sets, ohmansomuch), but I don't want to pay ridiculously high prices for, essentially, 13 hours of TV that gets repeated

"I have to finish my first draft by the 19th" --- ahahahaha, my whole dissertation is due on March 19th. And I have an Old Norse translation exam two days before. And 4 non-coursework essays deadlines in the interim.

I'm going to write Ch.2 on Monday, and type up the first draft. And don't worry, I'm not letting everybody else's monster wordcounts get me down. :) I can do this. I've written 10K of fiction in a day before; I can manage 4-5K of critical analysis. Then all I need to do is edit.

*still feels a bit DOOMED, but nevermind*

Doctor...Who... boxsets...*wibble*...no, I really shouldn't. Really, really shouldn't. But twenty-five squid? That is... really quite tempting... really, rather... guh. That's it, I give in, I'm going into town on Monday to hunt them down.

I managed to exercise self-control for once :P They're cheaper on amazon, anyway... I'm just sort of putting off buying them, in the hope that one day they'll get so cheap... or someone will get me them for Christmas, alternatively :D
Slightly better is a start, at least! I found out yesterday that instead of one 2500 word essay due friday, I also have the rough draft of a journal (2000w) to hand in. Which was mentioned...um, never. So fun. It's nothing on the level of a dissertation, of course, but I know what you mean about feeling screwed! :P

Some people work better under pressure, with the deadline hanging over their head like the Sword of Damocles - I know that's how I've always operated right from school to the present day lol! I always *intend* to do things differently, but even if I manage to get off to a good start, it still always manages to end up the same way - frantically racing against the clock *g*

Yeah, I seem to be one of the people who can't work until the deadline is looming, not so much on the horison but rather just around the corner. Heh. It's just a bit scary because the Dissertation counts for 1/6 of this year's mark and I feel like I've spent a grand total of two weeks on it ... ah, well.

I guess I like living on the edge! XD

Thanks for the good luck; I think I shall need it.
